Meijer offering deals, free food to UD students

The Kettering Meijer, at 4075 Wilmington Pike, is teaming up with the University of Dayton for a one-night Back-to-College event.

From 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, Meijer will offer UD students special discounts, free food, product samples, giveaways, contests and entertainment.

Campus bus service directly from UD to the store will be provided from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Students can get on board in the “G” parking lot, and outside McGinnis Center.

According to Meijer officials, the buses should be running every 15 minutes from each stop.

For more information, contact Michael Burkhart at (937) 297-8668, ext 611.

FYI! They will be having one for Wright State when they come back to school in a few weeks. It is the same each year.Know your facts before posting a idiotic comment.

Oh this is great for someone who can afford a college education, give them discounts. Meanwhile here on the other side of the tracks, we are still looking at these U.D. students pissing in our yards and having no respect for anything here in the area.

There are much bigger concerns than those expressed here. It is a good thing that some students can afford to go to the University of Dayton.

Doesn’t anyone read before posting? Meijer does the same thing for WSU when they get back to class in a couple of weeks. And not everyone attending UD are wealthy they work hard at getting Scholarships and get loans and work. Don’t brand everyone.

Yes some poor do go to UD. I graduated from Sinclair and then transfered to UD under a special scholarship.(While working full time in a day care) You also have many there on financial aid. UD students don’t get food stamps like many poor do. Thanks Meijer for remembering the working class.

Wright State is already back in session, not “in a few weeks”.

Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.

Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your blog. You have some really great articles and I feel I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some material for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please shoot me an e-mail if interested. Regards!

I do not attend UD or Wright state but I think that it is nice that Meijers is doing this for students. I would love if one of the grocery stores near Ohio University did this! Food can get rather expensive and it would be nice to not worry about the cost food for a month.
