Tim Hortons contest offers cash, cars, computers

Starting today, March 1, Tim Hortons is running its Roll Up the Rim to Win contest, which reportedly is one of the largest instant reward programs in North America.

The prizes, or at least a description of the prizes, is noted under the rim of medium, large and extra large hot beverage cups purchased at Tim Hortons.

I only wish you could play with their Ice Caps.

The prizes include sport utility vehicles, $10,000 cash, Toshiba netbooks and more than $31 million in food prizes. The chances of winning something are one in nine.

If you want to track who is winning and where, the Web site has a handy map of fortunate souls.

Prizes may be claimed until May 30.

I buy a cup of coffee from Tim Horton’s everyday on my way to work. I have only one a free coffee two times (in two years). The odds of winning are very slim.

But their odds of making a huge profit are great. That’s the gimmick.
