It’s all but over… another season of Dancing with the Stars comes to and end and the winner is…
Well, if it were only that easy. At the end of a two-hour extravaganza America will learn who will take home the mirror ball trophy for Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars.
Going into the final, just a few points separate the three remaining couples
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough - Total Score - 58 out of 60
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer - Total Score -53 out of 60
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson - Total Score - 53 out of 60
Each couple gets to dance one last chance to prove to the judges they have what it takes to be the champions.
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
Tonight’s Dance - The Hustle
If it all comes down to this dance - I’d say Warren and Kym are out. 10 weeks of competing have taken their toll on the couple.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 9 - You might not be the judge’s champion but I’m sure you’re the public’s champions
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - You are the craftiest of them all.
Carrie Ann Inaba -9 - You two are too cool for school.
Total Score 27 out of 30 combined total 80 out of 90 points
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Tonight’s dance - The Jitterbug
I think the tried a little too hard - but it was fun to watch.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 9 - You sparked those last few weeks.
Bruno Tonioli - 10 - You have become a great showman.
Carrie Ann Inaba -9 - You so deserve to be here…
Total Score 28 out of 30 - Combined total 81 out of 90
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Tonight’s dance - Viennese Waltz
She only need 24 to stay in the lead… will it happen? It was pretty to watch… I thought they might have gone for a higher energy number - nonetheless, this was a safe choice.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 10 - Northing I’ve seen has made me change my mind… that was the best Viennese Waltz.
Bruno Tonioli - 10 - A grand performance.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 10 - Brooke you are a star.
Total Score 30 out of 30 - Combined total 88 out of 90
So who won?
Finishing in third place is Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Coming in second place Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
So, Brooke Burke & Derek Hough are walking away with this year’s Mirror Ball trophy and the season seven championship. Few couples have been more consistent performers this season than Brooke and Derek, so all seems right in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom… Agree?
It could be true! Last night Brooke Burke and Derek Hough were the top score getters and if America votes the same way as the Judges, America could choose a Playboy model as the Mirror Ball Trophy Winner. We’ve come so far -
The Judge’s scores from last night show -
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough - Total Score - 58 out of 60
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer - Total Score -53 out of 60
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson - Total Score - 53 out of 60
After 10 weeks of dancing it all comes down to the finale to choose this year’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ mirrorball trophy winner. Tonight (Nov. 24,) the three remaining couples will be showing us what they’ve got as they heat up the ballroom floor with samba and a freestyle number.
The three remaining couples are…
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
Tonight’s dances -
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
The couple has been at the top of the leaderboard 80% of the time. She and Derek have had the only perfect score. During the season the couple has scored 12 - 10s. But in the last last week’s performance, she was poor at best. Will Brooke bring the A game tonight?
First Dance - Samba Smackdown
Brooke and Derek are here to dance - great energy and precision footwork.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 9 - you’ve been the sensation of season seven and you’re the won to beat.
Bruno Tonioli -10 - You really are a dazzling, sizzling
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - You bring the technical nuances to each dance.
Total Score 28 out of 30
Second Dance - Freestyle
Brooke and Derek have set the bar pretty high after that number! Fun to watch and full of energy (Having watched the full season of Grease - you’re the one that I want, I wished the producers choose a different number!) That’s going to be a perfect 10
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 10 - I got all hot under the collar.
Bruno Tonioli - 10 - Follow that! You are the one we all want. One of the best freestyle…
Carrie Ann Inaba - 10 - Tonight you brought it.
Total Score 30 out of 30 - Total for tonight 58 out of 60
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
Warren and Kym have finished second in the weekly competitions more often than any other couple. Unlike Brooke and Derek, they have only scored three perfect 10s. Warren and Kym have been crowd favorites receiving standing ovations after many of their dances - but will it be enough?
First Dance - Samba Smackdown
Twinkle toes was back to top form -it seemed as though Warren was concentrating too much.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman -7 - Much more content… it wasn’t Kym doing all the work.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - You’re irresistible
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - Warren you are the most improved.
Total Score 25 out of 30
Second Dance - Freestyle
Warren was way to focused on keeping his place in the number - so much that it didn’t look like he was having fun.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 10 - As an entertainer, you have no one that touches you.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - With you all resistance is futile.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - Of all the routines - that one was my favorite.
Total Score 28 out of 30 - Total for tonight 53 out of 60.
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Lance and Lacey have had 2 first place finishes this season and have only scored 3 10s. The contemporary dancing duo have the largest lead going into the final night of dancing.
First Dance - Samba Smackdown
That was some fancy footwork…. but a little light in the energy level.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 8- You’ve got a lot going on in that dance - you’ve got to work on the finesse.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - You are so tight and so clean.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - You have the momentum.
Total Score 26 out of 30
Second Dance - Freestyle
While that was a fun number to watch - The hip-hop may have been the wrong choice.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 9 - I liked that song.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - Youthful, vibrant and exciting… Very Good.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - I loved the beginning and I loved the end… there was one section that through it off. Total Score 27 out of 30 for a total of 53 out of 60.
Cloris Leachman will be back to cheer on the newest Mirror Ball Trophy winner in tomorrow night’s results show. After tonight’s performances, Brooke and Derek are in the lead and are likely to win season seven. So who are you voting for?
The dance card is set for the season 7 finale of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and it’s anyone’s guess who will make it through. Going into tonight’s show (Nov. 18), Brooke Burke and Derek Hough had been strongly favored, but after last night’s dreadful outing, anything could happen.
America has voted and the three couples selected for this year’s finale are…
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
So, Cody Linley & Julianne Hough have been eliminated and won’t be advancing to the finals. In a goodbye speech worthy of someone 10 years his senior, Cody thanked the whole world and was glad his dancing “can inspire someone to want to dance…”
So it really all comes down to the final performances. Any one of the three remaining couples could realisticly walk away with the mirror ball trophy.
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
- Could win it all if they continue to find the right mix of traditional dances peppered with their eclectic personalities.
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
- This couple could win if they bring back their A game. The performance this week looked like Brooke was just learning to walk let alone dance, so unless they bring it - they’ll be out.
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
- While fun to watch, this couple’s style is really more of a one-trick pony show. In order to pull out the win, Warren has to master a few more dance steps and continue to wow the crowd.
Unless something dramatic happens in these last two weeks of dancing, Brooke Burke is likely to be the next Mirror Ball trophy winner. In my mind, this is her competition to loose.
Tonight’s competition -
Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
First Dance - The Jive
These two really know how to heat up the ballroom! It’s just too bad the performance was so bad.
Judges Comments -
Len Goodman - 7 - That was a disaster. It was one of those nights.
Bruno Tonioli - 7 - You went the wow - the problem is how. I am totally shocked.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 7 - The fact you went for blatant illegal lifts. I found that a bit disrespectful.
Total Score 21 out of 30 - Ouch
Second dance of the night - Salsa
Perhaps it was just the tassels on Brooke’s pants but that was quite a nice improvement.
Judges Comments -
Len Goodman -10 - Work to your strengths - don’t worry about other people.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - Brooke is back.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - …a champion is… is someone who rises above it and comes right back.
Total Score 28 out of 30 - Total for tonight 29 out of 60
Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
First dance of the night - paso doble
It’s hard to imagine Julianne had a major surgery just a few weeks ago - Not their best performance - even the audience thinks so… they’re on their feet.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 7 - I’m afraid you are going to get your marching orders.
Bruno Tonioli - 7 - That was different.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 8 - For your determination - 10.
Total Score 22 out of 30
Second dance of the night - - Salsa
Cody seemed to be running out of energy as the dance wound down - it’s a good thing he didn’t drop Julianne
Judges Comments
Len Goodman -8 - Great lifts - well done.
Bruno Tonioli - 8 - You danced this dance like a chicken devil.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 8 - It was a lot of fun.
Total Score 24 out of 30 - Total for tonight 46 out of 60
Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
First dance of the night - mambo
Warren and Kym might be the surprise couple of the season.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman - 8 - You epitomize, Go with what you know.
Bruno Tonioli - 8 - You are such a super-size sense of fun… but very engaging.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 8 - You know how to bring the house down.
Total Score 24 out of 30
Second dance of the night - The Jitterbug
Warren and Kym are always fun to watch - it would be nice if he could learn a few more steps.
Judges Comments -
Len Goodman - 8 - You are truly a joyful person to watch.
Bruno Tonioli - 8 - (I have no idea what he said)
Carrie Ann Inaba - 9 - I loved it!
Total Score 25 out of 30 - Total tonight 49 out of 60
Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
First dance of the night - Mambo
Nest dance of the night so far - full of energy and simple on! The crowd agrees giving the two a standing ovation.
Judges Comments
Len Goodman -9 - In this competition it isn’t where you start it’s where you finish… and that was the best dance so far.
Bruno Tonioli - 9 - This is semifinal material - way to go.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 10 - Wow - that was a show stopper.
Total Score 28 out of 30
Second dance of the night - The Jitterbug
Could Lance and Lacey pull this one out? That was a second strong performance - inspite of the fact he lost
Judges Comments -
Len Goodman - 9 - Two fabulous dances!
Bruno Tonioli - 10 - That was brilliant.
Carrie Ann Inaba - 10 - You pitched it perfectly.
Total Score 29 out of 30 - Total tonight 57 out of 60
One of the best part of tonight’s show was the professional dancers showing us how the dances should look. For us dance novices, it was a much appreciated lesson.
The biggest surprise of the night had to be Lance and Lacey performances - they were on fire. If they could keep that energy and precision up through the finale (assuming they make it though), I’d say they have a pretty good shot at winning the whole thing.
The couple likely to be going home is Cody and Julianne. He’s come a long way this season but it’s likely the couple has dance their last dance. Agree?
Late Wednesday (Nov 12), various news outlets were reporting that Paula Goodspeed, a 2005 Idol contestant and self-proclaimed Paula Abdul super-fan, had apparently committed suicide outside Abdul’s California home.
TMZ is reporting that local police had foiled an earlier suicide attempt by Goodspeed near Abdul’s home.
People magazine is reporting that Goodspeed’s first name was really Sandra, but went by Paula as a show of devotion to Abdul. Goodspeed’s license plate read “ABL LV” who some have suggested stands for Abdul Love. Allegedly other Adbul items were reported to have been found in the car including a picture of Abdul that was hanging from the rearview mirror.
In a statement released by her publicist Abdul said, “I am deeply shocked and saddened at what transpired yesterday. My heart and prayers go out to her family.”
Regardless of how you might feel about Paula Abdul and her performance as a judge on ‘American Idol,’ she’s the one judge who always has a kind word to say to the contestants about their efforts. This is in sharp contrast to Simon Cowell, who’s sharply worded criticisms have made him one of the most loathed judges of any of the reality TV shows.
With the new season of ‘American Idol’ just a few months away… I have to wonder if this event will bring out a slightly more refined and gentle ‘American Idol…’ I’d guess not.
Wow - before season 5 of Top Chef even really got started, Lauren Starling Hope is going home - wherever that is.
As the chefs introduced themselves, I thought Lauren introduced herself as being from Savannah, GA - but the Bio for the show says she’s a chef at Jag’s in Union Centre - West Chester - I’m confused. A call to the publicist for Bravo didn’t help to clarify the matter - maybe the publicists was trying to tell me something with her no comment. Since Lauren was eliminated in the first half-hour of the show, I guess it doesn’t matter now does it.
How sad… I was hoping for a local connection to the best reality TV show on cable.
If you have any scoop on the local chef, dish it here!

I think most people could agree with this. Warren was a good showman, but Brooke was good show after
