Idol’s finale tonight! Are you team Adam or team Kris?

American Idol predictions abound this morning around the office and the excitement is palatable. Who is going to win? At this point my guess is it’s anybody’s game.

It may completely depend on song choice. It could boil down to order of songs. Or order of performers. Who goes first, who goes last? Are the judges choosing a favorite song from the season for each performer tonight? And, do hey have the power to sway the vote based on whether they choose wisely or not?

I had been riding on the fence, not really caring who won tonight because I like both Kris and Adam. I didn’t start a Kris fan but slowly, as he developed, I became a fan. However, I’ve liked Adam since his audition and in Hollywood. Every week he has solidified why I think he is an incredible performer.

I have heard people say “send him back to the stage.” Heck, I’ve even said it at one point but here’s the bottom line. He wants a career. A solo career. Can you blame him? He’s been working for this his entire life so why should he be sentenced to a life in musical theatre just because he excels there?

They will both be okay. They will both get contracts. But bottom line, without seeing tonight’s performances, which I doubt will change my mind, I am a member of Team Adam.

By the way, I wanted to share something with you that a good friend sent to me. Adam as a blonde! I understand he is a natural strawberry blonde and was so all through high school. Personally, I prefer the dark haired Adam. It adds to his mystique.

One last chance before tonight’s performances. Are you Team Adam or Team Kris? Do you think there is anything they could do this evening to change your mind?

6-8 months from now no one will remember Kris. He should have been dumped months ago. He will be like Taylor Hicks who is 99% forgotten. The press hurts Adam by hinting that Adam could be gay. Like who cares. Kris will be the opening act at car washes. average talent-no more

It always amazes me to read comments from people who say “get a life”. They’re obviously reading it too! ANYWAY, I think it’s been pretty clear that I’m on Team Kris. That was evident last week when my 7 year old asked me if I wanted to marry him and got upset when I said yes. LOL I tend to vote based on who I have liked throughout and Kris is definitely that person for me. If he botches his songs tonight, it still wouldn’t change my opinion. Can’t wait!! And Kim - I’m with ya - there is nothing natural about blond headed Adam! ewwww

Yes,Kris has definitely gotten better recently but I still feel that Adam is so unique, has such stage presence and has such range and stamina! He is totally different than any contestant I have ever seen perform-he certainly stands out and in a good way. I am really hoping he sings Mad World tonite. To me that was his best performance of the whole season and I feel more people will connect with that as it is not so over the top. It is definitly going to be an exciting night!!!

I’ll be voting for Kris. After living in California, I find Adam a little L.A.-creepy. Both of them should do well in their careers. Adam will definitely be sought-after. Kris is a bit quiet, as far as his demeanor goes — so hopefully, he will have great management to help sell him/his talent after the Idol affilliation is over.

I dont know who is going to win, but I am going for Team Adam. He has been consistent throughout the whole season and he is a great guy. I like Kris too. If Kris sings Aint No Sunshine then I dont know who will win… I am actually hoping that Adam sings Ring of Fire or Tracks of My Tears. This is exciting!

I still don’t care a jot who wins. :) They are both talented and we will be seeing both of them again, regardless. I’m still not sure that winning is the best thing - I know they get the contract dibs on all of them - but they make the winner sing a really sucky first single that they cram down their throats. EW. That should be one of the things they sing tonight - whatever icky single has been chosen for them. I think the die is pretty much cast by now - I suppose there could be people still on the fence - but I think that the “fan lines” have been drawn by now. And Michael - I personally think the vote should be based on the entire season and their overall skills as a performer up to now and that is why I doubt that tonight’s performances can change much. But maybe that is just me! One of them may get some Danny votes - but this Danny gal ain’t voting and I think there will be a lot of that too. So I get to just watch and ponder without really caring. And Adam as a blonde is extra creepy - don’t like that look on him. It sure doesn’t look natural to me because he has such dark eyebrows and tons of dark roots in those photos. He may have been more blonde when he was little or something - my daughter was like that. Her hair was golden blonde all through grade school and then began to turn until it is now quite dark. Go fig. But yeah - I’m with you - I prefer the darker look. As for him having a chance other than Broadway - I just have a bit of a hard time seeing it. If he wants to be a mainstream solo artist, then he needs to stop acting like he’s in a musical! I’m just real curious to see where it all goes.

We’ll see how tonight goes, but as long as the judges don’t ask Adam to recreate his performance of “Ring of Fire” I’ll be rooting for him. I believe that, much like the Beatles, nobody should ever attempt to cover Johnny Cash. I like Kris, and will buy his album when it’s released, but Adam has impressed me the most this season.

I will root for the underdog, Kris. Here is a question for everyone: should the vote be based on tonight’s performances, on the body of work over the course of the season or on how big of a pop star you think the winner will be? If you base it on body of work, Adam will win. If you base it on expected future pop music success, Kris should win. And, if you base it on tonight’s performances, we will have to stay tuned …
