Who will win “Dancing with the Stars’ ” Mirror Ball Trophy?
After last week’s amazing semi-finale performances, it all comes down to tonight’s finale. This season started off very slowly, in fact, there were times I was ready to give up on the series, but the group of stars and dancers in the finale have made the wait worth while.
The first dance of the night is the Paso Doble - I can’t remember if this is how they always do the final, but the groups are dancing individually and side by side. While this helps us see the difference between the dancers, this has to add a layer of difficulty to the overall competition.
Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas - Nice overall performance. Clean and to the point. It would be great to see her dance in a few more years. Dance one score - 28.
Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani - Dramatic performance, but will the few misteps be too much for the fans. Dance one score - 29.
Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke - What can you say… that was nearly perfect - Dramatic and powerful performance filled with grace. Dance one score - 30.
After the first round of scores - this is going to be a close race to the finish.
Second - Freestyle - This is the dance where the dancer get to do whatever they want to do - no rules.
Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas - What’s up with their costumes? It looks like they’re wearing garbage bags and robber masks. Okay they lost he costumes.. that helped. The crowd loved it! This is going to be a difficult choice for the judges and America - Even Len loved it this week! Dance two score - 30.
Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani It was hard to know if their number was dance - a cheer leading routine - a martial arts exhibition - or exactly what that was. Dance two score - 27.
Gilles Marini & Cheryl Burke - My only question about this number… is where is the bucket of water? The homage to “Flash Dance” showed off more of Cherly’s talents than Gilles - so one has to wonder if this was a good choice. Dance two score - 28.
The scores are close. So who will win this season’s mirror ball trophy - Could Shawn and Mark pull out an upset?

Shawn and Mark’s costumes were a spin-off of the Jabberwocky’s from the MTV show America’s best dance crew

I love Melissa and Tony and I want them to win so much. They came so far and she shined like the starsbright rays. Melissa I will vote for you non- stop. Although there isaslight possibilty that Gill and Cheryl will win. 30 as a score hasgot them really far so the desicion is tough but I still say GO MELISSA AND TONY! Shawn isalso nice but if her fans just give it all they got she can be in 3rd or 2nd. She can rck but we will see who wins tonight. p.s please melisaa winnnnnn

Gilles was off during the freestyle. The guy is clearly the best dancer of the three finalists and should win because of the whole body of work during the season. But if America judges by the very last dance, then a Shawn upset is a distinct possibility. Too bad if that happens!

They were too harsh on Melissa…Shawn had so many FLAWS in her dance (friend of mine who is a pro dance pointed EACH ONE out to me!) They have they’re favs and it’s popularity on the judges part also.

Shawn all the way. She was the best last night. What’s up with the jeans that Gilles wore—it was like he forgot his pants for the dance.

Ms Rycroft’s 15 minutes of fame is up. I can’t help to say she is or was getting the OH SHE got dumped by Jason on the Bachelor, so lets vote for her for a few weeks of pity. WHile she has done fine, after all she does have a dance background and GASP in case no one heard, She was a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, Ms Johnson and Gilles have far outdance her. I want Ms Johnson to win, but it will be Gilles and Ms Burke. One of the things I got tired hearing, be it Bachelor or DWTS, every few minutes she or someone was talking or telling all about being a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. Please…DWTS is a good clean show, love the outfits, but should have NON dancing backgrounds for the Stars. No Cheerleaders or Rap stars or Pussycat Dolls type on the show. Lets have stars that have no dance back ground and see how well they are able to learn. IMHO that is..
