Dancing with the Stars - Week 2 - The Results Show Update

As we wait to see who will be staying around for another week, Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson kicked off tonight’s (Sep 30) show dancing the Pasa Doble.

When tonight’s guest star, Jessica Simpson started singing, I was caught off guard… Somehow her move to country passed my by. Her second number was far more enjoyable than the first. I was a little afraid for her teeth… it seemed as though she was going to swallow her microphone.

Tonight’s show provided at least one revealing tidbit about Len and Bruno, two of the show’s judges. Each week they’re traveling back to the U.K. to tape the UK version of Dancing with the Stars and then back to the US to do the U.S. version - they must be earning some great frequent flyer miles.

Tonight’s Macy’s Stars of Dance performance was at least illuminating if nothing else - overall the dance was a little too abstract for my taste.

So the couples continuing on to week three include:

  • Toni Braxton & Alec Maz
  • Rocco Dispirito & Karina Smirnoff
  • Cody Linley & Julianne Hough
  • Brooke Burke & Derek Hough
  • Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani
  • Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson
  • Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke
  • Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer
  • Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
  • Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas danced their final dance of this season of Dancing with the Stars. I really thought Cloris or Rocco would be going home… but that’s what makes this show so fun to watch… you just never who’s going home next.

Did America get the vote right this week?

I say Lance Bass then Leachman. His Disco or Hip Hop wont cut it with Len. Len doesn’t like any of the crap Lance pulled, to go far. This is Ball Room Dancing after all. Warren Sapp is a surprise, plus his humor is part of what makes watching him dance even more fun. The Houghs will go far, but in the end the Brother Hough will stay after Jules Falls..

I was hoping Cloris wouldn’t get canned, but based on her scores, I understand. I would have preferred to see Lucci go before Kardashian … just because she was better to look at. LOL! Any way, It was Lucci, Kardashian and Green on my chopping block. Green’s next. Even tho, Rocco is worse. I think the other contestants had better watch out for Braxton … she may pull a Yamaguchi and surprise us all in the coming weeks. My heart’s with Sapp and Cloris, but Braxton is surprisingly VERY good.

Kenny G and ice, what could be better? [things to do]

Kenny G

What would Brian Boitano do? If he lived in the Miami Valley, he'd check out "Skate for the Heart" featuring saxophonist Kenny G. and Olympic and World Champion figure skaters at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 19, at the Nutter Center. Boitano won't be there, unfortunately, but here's who will: Ekaterina Gordeeva, Irina Slutskaya, Viktor Petrenko, Jeffrey Buttle, US Pairs Champions Rockne Brubaker and Keauna McLaughlin, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Caryn Kadavy, Jozef Sabovcik and Steven Cousins. Tickets are $42 to $100. More »

'Quantum of Solace'[movies]

Men have curious ways of getting over a romantic betrayal. Some try avoidance. Some go on the rebound. James Bond's method, as seen in "Quantum of Solace," involves shooting, ducking, running, bleeding, locking dudes in car trunks and the massive destruction of parts of Italy and Bolivia. Obviously Daniel Craig is back as the shoot first, drink cocktails later version of 007 in the follow-up to 2006's "Casino Royale". More »

Amelia's Bistro, Bellbrook, restaurant review [review]

Call it comfort food, gourmet style. From crab raviolis with vanilla lobster sauce, to a hand-cut and brined pork chop served with a fig jam, to a simply "Big-Ass Cake" that's a chocolate lover's dream, Amelia's has the potential to become a destination restaurant — worth the drive to Bellbrook.
