Let the ‘Idol’ controversy begin

American Idol already has its first controversy of the season.

Seems like no other show gets embroiled in more brouhahas than Idol.

This time it’s one of the pairs of twins, Terrell and Derrell Brittenum of Memphis, who, according to an Associated Press story, have been accused of using another man’s identity to buy a car in June. The two were advanced to the next round at their September audition.

My theory is that because AI shows so much of the audition process, incidents are publicized that would never gain media attention on other programs. Unless the parties made the finals on those shows, no one would know who they are.

Given the show’s history, I am fairly certain this won’t be the last scandal this season. Juicy subplots almost always add up to better ratings, and Idol has already started out with a bang.

AI=Artificial Intelligence. How many smart people have you seen on American Idol? The entire show is idiotic!!! And we continue to watch it.

I don’t see this as a “controversy” at all. What’s controversial about it? The twins sang great at their first audition, and, at the time, AI didn’t know they had committed a crime. The criminal charges weren’t filed until after the taping of the show. AI couldn’t possibly have predicted such a thing would happen. Obviously, once AI learned that they are criminals, they must be disqualified.
