Another winner by Mark Burnett
Lost in the shuffle of this summer’s reality TV glut is another winner from “Survivor” genius Mark Burnett. “Rock Star: INXS” is much more than an “American Idol” clone. INXS needs a lead singer, and while the public has voted for their faves, the band decides who goes every week. Tonight’s finale, right after “Big Brother,” gives the three finalists one last chance to shine before the band chooses the winner. Will it be bad boy J.D., good guy Mig or solid, confident Marty. My vote’s for Mig, but I’m betting the band will just think he’s just too nice, too Broadway to be a rock star. J.D.’s star power is undeniable, but I think the band will worry about his work ethic or his diva potential. I’m betting slow, steady, ever-improving Marty will win the day and the limelight. So what if you’ve never seen it. The finale, if nothing else, will be a good chance to revel in rock ‘n’ roll.

I’m glad about the final decision last night. While they were all talented, I think J.D. will fit in the best and has more of an INXS “sound” than the others.
