dcjet: You’re not alone. Many former McCain supporters can’t figure out where or when he made the wrong move. I suppose his selection of Sarah Palin was a hint of what was to come, a cynical choice that attempted to grab a weird cross-section of Hillary backers, far right loyalists and religious fundamentalists. Whatever, in conjunction with the disjointed and cranky campaign he has orchestrated (he does have final say over what goes out, including the abrasive messages at the RNC in Minneapolis), McCain reminds many folks of a smoldering ash of his former self.

Sarah Palin ran for office in Alaska on a platform of transparency and innovation but, instead, has repeatedly attempted to derail or politicize legitimate inquiries into her abuses of executive power. The ONLY Presidential quality Palin has evinced thus far is her ability to dissemble and stonewall just like George W. Bush. Sorry to burst your bubble, Saraholics- Palin’s withering contempt for those who do not share her political, religious or personal values are now well-documented and render her unfit for national office. She is a cheap, lying, bigoted small-time politician trying to duck accountability for her lack of ethics. I look forward to Palin skulking back to Alaska after the elections are lost and finally facing the music for her unethical activities.

I took John McCain at his word in early 2008 when he vowed to be a straight-shooting presidential candidate who prized honor above winning. He urged Americans to judge his candidacies “by the examples we set, by the way we conduct our campaigns, by the way we personally practice politics”. When Republicans attacked John Kerry during the 2004 “Swiftboat” episode, McCain responded immediately, calling those ads “dishonest and dishonorable.” This was John McCain at his best. I regret to say we are now seeing John McCain at his worst. This Republican of over 40 years is sorely disappointed that McCain has yet to forcefully and proactively condemn his campaign organizers’ insinuating to voters that Barack Obama is a terrorist. I understand that McCain has failed to connect with many discerning voters. I get it that he sees his chances for winning the White House slipping away, but for McCain to abandon his avowed principles and embrace Karl Rove’s brand of scorched-earth politics appears to be an outright betrayal of the code he purports to live by. These cynical, desperate attacks are reminiscent of McCarthyism at its lowest. For shame, John, for shame.

I supported John McCain for President in 2000 but find it lamentable to see his 2008 campaign led by disciples of the discredited Karl Rove. When McCain entered this year’s race, I felt a thrill of hope. Surely he would run the moneychangers out of the Temple; surely he’d call out George Bush and Dick Cheney for their flagrant abuses of executive power. This is, by definition, what a maverick is, what a true leader does. He speaks truth to power; he cleans up the mess in his own house before tackling others. Regrettably, John McCain has done none of this. Instead of the warrior patriot he purports to be in his ads, all I see in McCain is a lost soul utterly beholden to the dictates of the lobbyists running his campaign. One of his chief strategists is the same despicable cur who led a smear campaign against McCain in 2000, accusing him of fathering an illegitimate child with a black woman in South Carolina. The John McCain I know would have run off that mongrel, would have publicly renounced a campaign as dishonorable as the one his lieutenants have waged against Barack Obama. As President, McCain would have no peers to temper his rash judgments or check the worst excesses of his mercurial nature. What ardent McCain supporters see as steely resolve, others fear as intractability, rank impulsiveness and contempt for good counsel. This nation simply cannot afford another chief executive who refuses to work with or honor the roles of Congress and the courts. George Will got it right; temperament matters when it comes to the Presidency. On that basis, Barack Obama is better-suited for the job than John McCain.

Obama is anti-capitlist America. I have read his plan and I have listened to his speeches. He is anti-capitalist. He is against free market. He does not believe in the traditional American Dream. He does not believe in that dream that so many immigrants fight for, they fight to get her to have that dream. McCain fought for the vietnamese, he fought for them to have that in their country. American Vietnamese do not want Obama’s plan. They want the American Dream. None of us are looking for social programs or for a government to control our lives. We are Americans and we don’t like that at all. A vote for Obama is a vote for loss of freedom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxhYampIl7A&eur

McCain used personal attacks on Obama in order to sway voters. The McCain/Palin rallies had crowds of supporters yelling “terrorist” and “kill”. Now, perhaps McCain and Palin can reach out to the Klan or the Neo-nazi groups with such rallies. But, it DOES NOT work in America. Obama stayed on message and showed true leadership. The McCain campaign has shifted direction four times. This shows McCain to be disorganized. We do not need disorganization during difficult times. Obama showed coolness and leadership qualities. Palin was a poor choice for VP. She does not speak well. She has very little knowledge of the world and our country. Biden was a good choice for VP. He is a foreign policy expert who also knows our country and its diverse people. Our country need leadership. Obama has the qualities we need for President.

Media accusing voters of being too racist to support Obama are themselves guilty of an unconscionable, racist, attack, imposing unfair, unpredictable influence on the presidential election. It is an outrage to be maliciously defined a racist by despicable racist. Authorities responsible for unsubstantiated, racist attacks on the character and pride of decent Americans demonstrate disdain for democracy. I have heard, seen, and had, enough of that deceitful, political tactic. Biased media, democrat leaders, and African American racist, recklessly accused decent American citizens of being all about us (U.S.) and keeping America first, while they have been all about them, and keeping the nation of their ancestral origin first and before America. I have never voted for or against any one based on race, gender, ethnicity, national ancestral origin, or color, and I never will. Having said that, until such time it is proved inappropriate or unfair, I will never vote for any Native American, Italian American, African American, or any other kind of American, unwilling to put Americans and America before any other, national ancestral origin. For my vote it’s not that high an American bar to clear. Right now if you can’t see where America is heading you will never believe what’s coming. If the media, democrats, radicals, and racist, successfully convince America to put Obama in the White House you will wake up in an Obama Nation a little more African and a lot less American. When old glory lies dropped in the dirt by political corruption and selfish greed, the modern Obama nation flag will wave!! The thought of seeing old glory trampled reminds me of what F.D.R. said to the nation after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, “We have nothing to fear but fear it self”. Today it may be more appropriately said, “We have nothing to fear except God show up and not recognize US”. The reasons I will not vote for Obama are vast, vetted, and all American. For my vote Obama’s problem is not what I don’t know about him it’s what I know. I have never been anything except an American trying to be a better Christian and prayerfully for the life of me I don’t intend to change! Regardless who wins the White House I will never stop being an American Christian. God Bless America!!

Great depression or giant bag over the head, punch in the face! I keep hearing reference to the great depression. Well I don’t know if Great Depression is the best term for the cause of so much severe suffering for such a protracted period in American history. I guess the comparison is constantly invoked to create and spread fear, an impending sense of doom, and a sense of urgency, for the benefit of those responsible for deliberately leveraging against the nations financial infrastructure an untold amount of unsecured loans. You know the high financers of bad loans, buying, selling, and trading, doomed debt. I don’t think the media or politicians would do it to provoke what memories still linger in the minds of those that remember it was brought on by incredibly corrupt financiers and the incalculable greed of selfish Washington politicians. I honestly believe there was trouble on Wall Street back then, because I also believe, unfortunately a lot of people, for their love of money, hurl them self’s off buildings from substantial heights. I don’t think any one alive can say they haven’t heard the doom and gloom forecast by the media and substantiated by the insistence of Washington political insiders for an immediate finical hostage rescue. Except for the cloud of dust and smoke created by the media and corrupt politicians concealing the doings of a lot of crooks playing with a lot of taxpayer dollars and I do mean a lot of dollars and a lot of crooks. You just wouldn’t think any thing was wrong when compared as repeatedly suggested, to the great depression. Hopefully, when they get done making those trillions of dollars disappear, we will discover who the magicians were, how the tricks were done, where the money went and were the money is. I am sure they are aware they are playing with more than enough money to create some real mortal dangers. I can only wonder if John Q Public is as aware. If their corruption wasn’t hurting so many hard working taxpayers we could all say, “Isn’t corruption grand” unfortunately for us corruption is just disgusting. Our Washington politicians and most other politicians, are so crooked layers make crooked jokes about them. Keep America First, Vote John McCain, Sarah Palin.

Media accusing voters of being too racist to support Obama are themselves guilty of punishable abusive racism.
