Who will win? Palin or Biden?

In her first and only debate of this long election season, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (left) is sure to draw more TV viewers to Thursday’s vice presidential debate then we’ve seen in recent years.

image4452079g.jpg

With Palin and U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (right), D-Del., on stage, this is sure to be a very lively VP debate - not that watching Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman going at it wasn’t exciting. Zzzzz. Thursday night all eyes will be on Palin.

This is her first national debate and her first debate since she ran for governor in 2006. Biden had more than 12 debates in 2007 and 2008 during his early run for the Democratic nomination.

Tell us what you think will happen Thursday night.

Who do you think will win Thursday's debate?
  Joe Biden
  Sarah Palin
  Neither
  I don't care

Talk about a lack of respect, what about Palin calling Sen. Biden Joe. She didn’t even know him.I Can’t believe the people who are taken in by her cutsy manner. She didn’t even answer half of the questions, just kept referring to all the wonderful things she has done. NOT! I do believe alot of the people who are for her have not truely been paying attention.

Biden came off looking much better than Palin, who spent more time trying to act like a cute, but stupid, hockey mom. And, just like Bush, she can’t pronounce the word “nuclear” properly. We don’t need another idiot running the government.

Even though Joe Biden is mentally retarded, I’m really glad that he will support hospital visitation rights for the gays…and I’m also glad that he likes the “Bosniacs”!! Did anyone else pick up on his body language? He squints when he is lying, smiles and looks all around when he is intimidated, and furrows his brows when he is being schooled by Sarah Palin. He got SPANKED!

The problem with Palin is her shrill voice and condescending tone. She sounds like church lady on steroids. This could be a problem for her connecting with the middle class. Also, her “joe six-pack” routine is so fake. She would lose on the gong show.

Obama’s mentors Rev. Wright, Saul “red’ Alinsky, John L. McKnight, Michelle (of all people) His White Grandmother (say what??). His neighorhood friend Bill Ayers (on the job together) Obama, socialist and marxist leanings, pacifist (no honor war) liar, Promises that can Never be kept to string the poor and uneducated and uninformed along. All you have to do is look up these names that are linked to this dangerous candidate and learn something. Read the Posts on Mother Jones about this Obama with the middle name we aren’t “allowed” to say. His training book, bible: “Rules for Radical”by Marxist Alinsky dedicated to “the first radical”…Satan nice mentor huh?

Greetings, my fellow comrades. In a short time, we will have accomplished our near term goals. You are all doing a wonderful job of humiliating the republicans and conservatives. Continue in your mission to the good end, which is the rise of the state. Death to conservative values and independent thought. Death to individualism. You are all better off when we all share in the bounty of the state. Praise to the state. Praise to community efforts. I will share the bounty with you all in January, 2009.

Payback for my creators at Dreamwork- thanks Steve. Hollywood would get a little unexpected boost from the proposed $700-billion bailout of the nation’s financial system. The bill wending its way through Congress would provide tax breaks worth more than $470 million over the next decade for movie and TV producers that shoot in the U.S. Full coverage: Financial crisisThat’s not a lot of money, given that the average studio movie costs $106.6 million to make and market, but it could keep some low-budget productions — and jobs — from going offshore. Hollywood has long sought measures to curb so-called runaway production, which it blames for causing thousands of job losses in Southern California as filmmakers have fled to Canada and other foreign countries that offer cost savings through tax breaks and other incentives. One provision would provide film and TV producers with the same tax deductions that American manufacturers such as General Motors Corp., Boeing Co. and Xerox Corp. receive for making their products in the U.S. Specifically, the legislation would allow filmmakers who shoot in the U.S. to qualify for a tax deduction granted in 2004 to domestic manufacturers that capped the top tax rate at 32% instead of 35%. Additionally, the tax package lifts the budget cap on the existing tax deduction, which was limited to movies that cost less than $15 million to make — in effect excluding most studio films, which cost a lot more. Now producers would be able to immediately deduct all production costs up to $15 million, regardless of the movie’s total budget. The change also extends the existing credit, which was due to expire this year, to December 2009. Representatives of the Motion Picture Assn. of America, the Directors Guild of America and the Independent Film and Television Alliance, which backed the measures, said it was premature to comment because they had not been approved. The provisions were part of a broad tax extension bill approved earlier by the Senate and then folded into the revised bailout legislation that it passed Wednesday.

Perhaps we should ask ourselves, as Regan said we should…are we better off now than we were 8 years ago? Is our family better off? Are our jobs more secure? Is our retirement accounts better and safer? Is the dollar stronger in the world? Is our country more respected in the world? Has our homes gone up in value? But wait, these things are not important….but I can see Russia from my window. But actually, that is also not true—Russia can only be seen from a far remote island and a certain female has never visited that island. Was that also a lie? We have much to ask ourselves…and we did put Bush/Cheney/Rove into the Whitehouse the last 4 years. Let’s ask, should we put Bush/Cheney/Rove into the Whitehouse a third time? And ask is it important who wins this debate?

300, do you have any original thoughts of your own or do you just like to copy and paste (and generally plagiarize) verbal vomit written by someone else like R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.? According to wikipedia, “Tyrrell was one of those behind the Arkansas Project to investigate Bill Clinton. His book, Madame Hillary: The Dark Road to the White House (2003), likened Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure as First Lady to that of the reign of a pre-revolutionary French monarch.” And Steven, do you think we can count on you to persuade your candidate to mention that in tonight’s debate? Y’know, that if Obama wins, all soldiers since the revolutionary war will have died IN VAIN???? Please, let her say that tonight…. unfortunately, I think she’s strategically smarter than that.

As we speak the Ohio GOP are involved in voter registration drives across the country trying to register - GASP! - new republicans! OMG! When will the conservative MSM stop conspiring with the McCain campaign and start listening to us regular folk and start reporting on the fraud going on right now in GOP registration drives! Be careful - if we allow the GOP to continue to promote their ideas to other conservatives and then get them to register to vote, we might as well say goodbye to our freedoms and start learning to speak French. They call it a “civic duty” but really that’s just Muslim code for “Hate America”.

Tom Wolfe, the eminent novelist and sociologist, has a theory that explains what the Democrats are doing to themselves and on Nov. 4 will do to the country. What they are doing is bringing to the presidency, in a time of war and financial crisis, a total novice. That would be Sen. Barack H. Obama. Oh, yes, and his running mate is Sen. Joe Biden, a total airhead. Recently, in stentorian solemnity, this airhead declared to a bemused audience of Democrats that at the time of the 1929 stock market crash, the president of the United States was “Franklin Roosevelt,” who addressed the financial peril straight away by getting “on the television.” This is the same clown who we are told tapped a reporter on the chest, saying, “You need to work on your pecs.” I assume the reporter was male. Though the Democrats insist Gov. Sarah Palin is a boob, she has yet to equal Sen. Biden’s buffoonery. At any rate, of the two candidates on the Democratic ticket, airhead Biden is the most politically experienced. His presidential running mate attained public office only 11 years ago, after being elected to the Illinois Senate. There his achievements were exiguous. Possibly it is churlish of me to repeat what careful readers already know about state Sen. Obama, but here are the essentials: In Springfield, Ill., state Sen. Obama voted straight Chicago machine, and he voted “present” 130 times. He took no chances and left no mark. He was not the candidate that he claims to be today, the champion of “reform” and “change.” Though we now know the Prophet Obama as a ceaseless moral ham, he has since his days as an Ivy Leaguer no unique civic, intellectual or moral achievements to his credit other than two best-sellers — a recent political potboiler and an autobiography that abounds with self-centered indignant passages that his campaign hopes will rarely catch the public eye. Not to put to fine a point on it, but the Democrats’ presidential candidate never became a national figure until 2005, when he became a United States senator. Moreover, in the United States Senate, he has been no more significant than he was in the Illinois Senate, possibly because he is not a particularly strong personality. Or it could be that he did not have time for the U.S. Senate. Within weeks of his arrival there, his aides were in Iowa testing the waters for a presidential campaign. He has been running for the presidency for most of the past three years. Comparing his political experience with that of the Republican candidates, Sen. John McCain and Gov. Palin, Sen. Obama’s experience most closely approximates that of Gov. Palin, whom the media adjudges unprepared to be president. Neither is comparable to Sen. McCain’s experience. Yet Gov. Palin’s political career began with a city council seat in 1992. She was elected mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, in 1996. That would be one year before Sen. Obama entered the Illinois Senate. All told, the Republican vice presidential candidate has served government in an executive capacity for eight years, two as governor. The Democratic presidential candidate never has held an executive office. Still, the Democrats disdain Palin and exalt the novice Obama. Here is where Tom Wolfe comes in. In his most recent novel, “I Am Charlotte Simmons,” and elsewhere, Wolfe has propounded his theory of “Championism,” to wit: people suffering the “real emotions” of “exultation” or “depression” over the fate of those they deem their champions. At its most absurd, Championism takes hold of sports fans who identify passionately with athletes they hardly know and — truth be told — probably would not want to know. Wolfe mentions, in particular, professional athletes, say New York Yankees, who might not even live in New York. The fans attribute all manner of diableries to their teams’ opponents and stupendous virtues to their own stars. Wolfe believes that it is perfectly normal for people to take sides on an issue even when they know very little about the issue and have absolutely no involvement in it. On the matter of politics, both Democrats and Republicans usually have years invested in hollering for their parties. Some have sent in financial contributions. Some have sported their parties’ buttons and bumper stickers. Thus, the political supporters’ emotions run even higher than those of sports fans. Nonetheless, their emotions might be equally absurd. Time and again, political messiahs have been exposed to be frauds and a danger to the commonweal. In the case of the Prophet Obama, it is apparent that he has almost no experience governing anything. Are Democrats going to vote for such a novice in a time of war and financial crisis? If they do and he spends the next few years learning on the job, the Democratic Party could end up in the wilderness for a long time.

One general point to remember…if Obama wins, the USA as a democratic republic will have ended. It will be a socialist country from that point on and every service person that has ever served since the revolutionary war will have served and in many cases been wounded or died IN VAIN. If you think living in a socialist country is so great, look and see how great life is in Britan, France and many other countries in the EU. That is what you are in for comrades. But if Obama wins, it will be too late to change things. And if he does, I predict that Israel will have no choice but to act much sooner than later regarding bombing Iran on its own - which I have no problem with. MUCH harder times are coming if Obama wins - your choice.

To me it really does not matter who wins the debate, for I would hate to decide my vote on an overly practiced 90 minute debate. I have seen interviews of both VP candidates and have researched their records and what they stand for or do not stand for. I have found myself feeling sorry for Palin several times. Yes, feeling sorry for her in the interviews and when she trys to defend her take on issues. But as I was having a ‘pity’ party for Palin, I realized that Putin and other world leaders would not feel sorry for her—they would take advantage of her lack of knowledge, skills, and grasp of world affairs and events—and we would be much more at danger. Also, as more business close and more people lose their homes and the dollar falls, the respect for the US is lower than Russia or China we are in the lower fourth in the world now in respect—then I realize that I do not want 4 more years of Bush/Cheney/Rove. I do want a change and that change should be to put the US People First. And I am tired of the many lies from Palin and the GOP camp. And I hate to say it but I voted for Bush the first time, but not the second and will not this third time either.

I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - LIAR, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part. I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - LIAR, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office. No One Contacted Canada About NAFTA - LIAR, the Candian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them. I Am Tough On Terrorism - LIAR, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction of Israel. Glus, what conclusion? That Palin’s pastor is a witch doctor? That she is horribly unqualified? Palin is a liar. She asked for the money for the ‘bridge to nowhere,’ she got hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks for her state, she got over $20 million in earmarks for Wasilla, a city the size of Portsmouth (after hiring a lobbyist to get the $$). She lies over and over about Putin and Russia flying into US airspace (NORAD has debunked this myth). She went to 5 colleges in 6 years and got a Journalism degree. Obama went to Harvard law school, was a constitutional law professor, served in the state senate and then the US Senate. Palin goverened a city about 1/3 the population of Beavercreek, then a state about 3/4 the population of the greater Dayton area. She is able to read a teleprompter - good for her. Biden isn’t without gaffes but at least he has a working knowledge of his party’s platform.

Glus, you have been listening to too much hate radio. Nobody is belaboring Obama’s association with his former reverend for two reasons. One, he’s answered the questions. Two, it isn’t relevant. You are using the classic technique of changing the question and twisting the facts. The fact is that Palin doesn’t know enough on most topics to give a simple answer. “I’ll get back to ya” is not an acceptable answer when asking about a running mate’s experience. That is so much more important than what a candidate’s pastor had to say. By the way, why is nobody asking Palin about her witch doctor reverend? Isn’t that relevant? It is scary that this joke of a politician is close to the second highest office in the land. The lady is clueless, horribly unqualified, and unfit for command. Biden wins in a landslide.

Obama does not have any foreign policy experience and his voting record consists of voting “present”. Every liberal loved this : “Couric: I’m just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point.” Well this same line of questioning can be asked about Obama’s associations. You will never see or hear the main stream media treating Biden or Obama like that. How about Couric ask this, Couric: “Mr Obama, I’m going to ask you one more time about your association with Rev. Wright – not to belabor the point”

I don’t know what all the hoop-la is all about. None of the candidates are qualified to run this country. A cash bailout using my money is not my idea of fiscal responsibility. Let all the greeders sink, the stock market will be fine. I would make a better candidate for President but oops, I don’t have my pockets lined with special interest groups and lobbys. Making decisions is not a hard job but sucking up to so-called experts that surround the Presidency must be exhausting. President Bush looks like a deer who is staring at headlights. Thanks congressmen, my daughter’s future is mortgaged to the hilt. America is supposed to be a leader of the world. I am ashamed of what we have done to our own economy and foreign countries who pinned their hopes on us. We can ill-afford 4 more years of this stupidity. Perhaps I can call Bert and Ernie and ask them to run for President and Vice-President. Certainly can’t hurt anymore than it already does.

Expectations are so low for Palin that she will look like a winner just by not screwing up. Biden has a penchant for slipping up at times, so watch out for that. At least this is the first VP debate since Dan Quayle that people actually wanted to watch.

Palin does not know the current administration’s foreign and domestic policies, does not know her running mate’s voting record and has made it abundantly clear that she cannot answer a simple question without consulting someone (with a brain). One of numerous examples: “Couric: I’m just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation. Palin: I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.” Just what our country needs - another ill-informed, religious nut in the White House.

I think that if everyone wants to criticize Palin and say she is “inexperienced”, they also need to take a good hard look at Barack Obama… can anyone reference a specific point in time where he has “reformed” anything?? And no, voting “present” does not count! He has voted present a RECORD-BREAKING 130 times in his four years! This man is not who he says he is! And by the way, the presidency doesn’t come with training wheels people. If you want to rip on Palin, at least do your homework about the candidate you support. And yes, that involves DIGGING a little, since the media is so terrified to ask Obama hard questions. Stop drinking the Obama Kool-aid, and use your BRAINS!!! 4 years is a long time to be stuck with a president you didn’t get to know. We don’t need rainbows and sunshine and empty promises. “PUT NOT YOUR TRUST IN PRINCES”.

I like the PBS moderators; Jim Lehrer didn’t let a question go until he either got a straight answer and made the candidates look ridiculous when they danced around them. I also liked that the pushed for them to talk directly to each other even if McCain didn’t comply. If the moderator pushes for more direct answers, like Jim Lehrer did, Joe Biden will do very well (although I don’t think he’ll blow her out of the water). If the moderator allows them to dance and moves on to the next question, Palin will come off better with all of her folksy stories and sarcastic one-liners. Most everyone is underestimating Palin’s appear though and the bar is set so low that if she can say a complete sentence she will win. Palin’s been taking such a beating that if she can just hold her own with her base, she wins. I don’t think it will do much in the long run because her appeal is more cultural/emotional and I think (hope) this race will always come back to the issues.

If the questions are answer, then Biden will win. Sarah Palin, has a way of just talking with out answering questions. Sarah Palin is incompetent John McCain is 72 years old and in bad health, and still living in the “good old days” when his lies could get him what he wanted. God Help us and American if McCain/Palin should win this election

Since Mc cain is the oldest person to run for President and e has had cancer 4 times, the Vice President is very important in this election. Palin as veep is ridiculous; Palin as President is absolutely terrifying!

I just hope that Gov. Palin goes easy on Sen. Biden tomorrow in their debate. He needs all the help he can get! A much more interesting debate would have been Sarah vs. Hillary!

If Palin plays the poor female victim role, she could come out ahead. If Biden sticks to the issues, he will win. I think that Biden should go for the jugular and paint Palin as being incompetent. It may not set well with conservatives but, she is incompetent.

Who cares? This race is between Obama and McCain. Neither one of these people (VP candidates) is going to take the position of president in the next four years.
