Arrested Development movie in 2009?

arresteddevelopment.jpg

IMDB.com now has an entry for an Arrested Development movie. The movie has been rumored about since the series finale of the show in February of 2006 but there was no hint that it was in the works until the Writer’s Strike earlier this year.

With nothing to do during that time, the creators supposedly got together and mulled over the possibility of a movie. Jason Bateman, the lead actor from the series, has since made several appearances on the Keith Olberman show hinting at the production of the movie.

The last I heard about it, they were having problems getting money to get off the ground with it. They also jokingly say that Michael Cera will be hard to sign for the movie since his career has taken off (he was in ‘Juno’ and ‘Superbad’).

According to IMDB.com, Cera, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Portia de Rossi are all rumored to be attached to the movie while the rest of the cast appears to be on board.

If you have never heard of this show, or just know very little about it, here is a small plot summary from IMDB.com:

Level-headed son Michael Bluth takes over family affairs after his father is imprisoned. But the rest of his spoiled, dysfunctional family are making his job unbearable.

Tell your friends.

I think this is one of the best shows ever made for television and wish it had lasted more than 3 seasons. The cast is perfect and the writing is genius. Let’s hope the movie becomes a reality in 2009. And if the movie is so successful it leads to a revival of the show, so be it.

If you are a fan of the show, here’s the music that G.O.B. plays before each magic ‘illusion’:

It is a great show, but the IMDB entry has been online for along time. This is not news, until confirmed by the director. Every member of the cast says they want to make a movie and has been saying it since the show was canceled. They should be affraid that the movie will not translate from 20 minutes of humor to 90. I don’t know how to accurately describe this show to new watchers, but the IMDB summary is not good enough.

AD is one of the all time great comedy shows of all time - every episode is absolutely hilarious. If you haven’t seen it, rent the DVDs. Will Arnett as GOB deserves an Emmy.

Amelia's Bistro, Bellbrook, restaurant review [review]

Call it comfort food, gourmet style. From crab raviolis with vanilla lobster sauce, to a hand-cut and brined pork chop served with a fig jam, to a simply "Big-Ass Cake" that's a chocolate lover's dream, Amelia's has the potential to become a destination restaurant — worth the drive to Bellbrook.
