City wants recognition by mall

City officials say they are proud of the new Cincinnati Premium Outlets project currently under construction off Ohio 63 just east of Interstate 75 and would like to see its name somewhere visible to passersby.

Former AK Steel employee charged with stealing from co-workers

A member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 1943 who was employed at AK Steel Corp.’s Middletown Works plant is expected to plead guilty to federal charges that he forged and cashed more than 100 defense fund checks that didn’t belong to him.
This comes from the story written by Staff Writer Dave Greber:
After being charged Nov. 13, Baker and the U.S. Attorney General’s Office reached a plea deal on the misdemeanor charge of falsifying records. He is due in court Jan. 14.
Officials from the U.S. Attorney General’s Office said Wednesday, Dec. 17, Baker escaped felony charges because he was not a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 1943 executive committee. He was, however, one of the members appointed by the local union’s executive committee to pass out $150 defense fund checks for workers locked out of AK Steel’s Middletown Works, according to Baker’s plea agreement reached in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati.
