Pub Science

The latest event in the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s Pub Science series brings Dr. Marcia Wendeln, professor and field biologist at Wright State University, to Blind Bob’s for a lesson in ethnopharmacology. That’s the study of how indigenous people use natural resources as medicine. Maybe she’ll reveal some recipes for natural hangover cures.

Hometown Heroes benefit

Beef O’Brady’s is throwing a party to honor Miami Valley’s Hometown Heroes - local fire, police and military members.

The Kettering Police Department will bring their K9 unit to do demonstrations. There will be live music with Bottom’s Up from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. and The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand to make child ID cards and do fingerprinting.

Beef’s summer drink specials will be available all night including .99 cent domestic drafts and 60 ounce margarita pitchers for $8.99

Other activities include face painting and balloons for kids, raffle prizes and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will benefit the Disabled Veterans of America and The Hundred Club of Dayton, which provides assistance to the widows and children of fallen police officers and fire fighters.

Hustle King Entertainment

Nine artists for only $5? Mustang Sally’s presents a packed lineup this Saturday with live performances by Hustle King Entertainment, Original Get Money Boys, Three Point Clique, GMB Entertainment, Dayton Boyz, H.Y.O., The Collab, MDot Lee, and DJ Ronak. Plus drink specials all night.
