File your taxes, then go celebrate with a “tea” party

Celebrate Tax Day with a tax-free tea party at Wings Sports Bar and Grille. They’ll have specials on Long Island iced teas and Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea (70 proof sweet tea flavored vodka). Plus customers will pay no tax on their yummy tea drinks.

Local Tater Tot eating contest to test local tummies
Mark your calendars: Bar Louie’s second annual “Rock the Tot” tater tot eating contest is set for Thursday, April 23.
If you’ve always felt like your appetite could give Takeru Kobayashi a run for his money and your love of the cylindrical french fry/hash brown hybrid rivals that of Napoleon Dynamite then this is the contest for you. To help add incentive, the winner will nab a $250 gift card and free tots for a year.
Registration begins at 7 p.m. on April 23 and the competition kicks off at 8 p.m. For those with a love of tots in more moderate doses, Bar Louie is offering a special on tots for $1.50 all week long beginning on April 20. We’ve posted the bar Louie flyer at the very bottom of this entry if you want to take a look for yourself.
So, how many tater tots do you reasonably think you could eat? I’m guessing I could only get through about a plate full before hitting my wall … lame, I know.
