Local beer tasting to decide what’s on tap

The Lizards love the Oregon District’s Trolley Stop, and they’ve given us yet another reason to sing it’s praises … as if we needed another … a monthly beer tasting event held in conjunction with Belmont Party Supply during which attendees taste different beers and then vote to pick a beer the Trolley will have on tap for the next month.

Hosted by Mike Schwartz from Belmont Party Supply, the March beer tasting event will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and are available for purchase at either Bellmont Party Supply or the Trolley Stop.

WHAT’S ON TAP? THAT ALL DEPENDS ON THE VOTE.

The March event will feature Stone Brewing Co.’s Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale; Left Hand Brewing’s Milk Stout (which TIME Magazine has described as “malty, roasty goodness”; Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter; Unibroue’s Maudite; New Holland Brewing Company’s Mad Hatter IPA; Bell’s Brewery, Inc.’s Amber Ale; Lagunitas Brewing Company’s Maximus; Flying Dog’s Spring seasonal offering, Garde Dog and Allagash Brewing Company’s Allagash White.

Trolley Stop co-owner Robin Sassenberg reports that the $20 ticket assures you nine generous pours (4-5 ounces) of the nine featured beers and snacks galore. Do you know of any other bars in town doing cool things like this and finding innovative ways to involve their customers? Comment here and let us know if you do!
