Pearl is now Club Vex
You may have heard the sexy sounding radio ads for a “new” club in downtown Dayton called Club Vex. You may also have noticed that the location given in those ad spots is a familiar one. It’s Pearl Nite Club.
Pearl/Vex bartender Mary Kathryn Burnside said Pearl’s owner Scott Etseo has wanted to change the name and freshen the image of the club for a while now.
The name change accompanies a few other changes to the club, located at 101 S. Saint Clair St., such as a new bar in the back room and some other minor renovations. Burnside said the bathrooms are soon to be fixed - although I can’t speak for the men’s room, this is a welcome update for the ladies.
But for now at least the club’s format will remain the same.
“For the most part things are going to be very similar,” Burnside said. L’Eighties night on Tuesdays, College Night on Wednesdays and live music on Thursdays are all still happening weekly. And fans can still catch their favorite resident DJs Matt Freeman and Terry Repp.
Just tell your friends to meet you at Club Vex instead of The Pearl or “that place that looks like an old diner”.

80s night is still going strong! Please come check us out on tuesdays. Rumors were flying that we were closed on tuesdays basically so people would not visit us and go to another unamed club for their 80s night. Quite a desperate measure to grow a new night. Vex is a run down past its prime nightclub. Used to ba a nice place but the new dj(Matt)is very rude and the service was not that polite!Drinks are expensive for being water downed too. Was there on a wed night and sat night not too long ago and had maybe 30 the most and thats not even at the same time.. Look else where people.
