Summerfest was great, except for the sunburn I left with. Howard Jones was awesome. Patty Smyth was a real kick in the pants and more enjoyable after her voice warmed up. I’ve never been wild about Taylor Dayne’s songs, but man, can she sing. A very nice experience overal.

The 28th annual Alter Fest promises no less than eight live bands, 25 different food options, 24 games and more all packed into a three-day festival. The festival on the grounds of Alter High School will run from Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30-31, noon to midnight, and Monday, Sept. 1, noon to 8 p.m. Monday's activities include a Guitar Hero Tournament and music by Velvet Crush. Admission and parking are free. More »
