Oops, we missed hot buttered rum day
I’m not sure how we missed it but, January 17th was National Hot Buttered Rum Day. I’ve dug around and can’t seem to find anything that clarifies when it received “National” status. However, since several web sites are reporting it - it must be true (I’m joking).
Nonetheless, It’s bleeping cold outside so a hot buttered rum could be warming.
Here’s a recipe:
2 cubes of sugar 1 3/4 oz. dark rum Boiling water for topping Butter
Put the sugar cubes in a glass, put a teaspoon or glass stirrer in the glass, add rum and top with boiling water. Dot the surface with butter and stir gently.
