1977 fashion … let the laughter begin

There has been a hysterical blog entry circulating via e-mail and MySpace.com and naturally it’s not credited correctly … but that’s par for the course, we’re talking about e-mail where Applebee’s is giving away $50 gift certificates if you send something to all your friends

Anyway, it’s a guy blogging on a JC Penny’s Catalog from 1977 and it is mind blowingly funny.

Before I provide the link for this stunningly ingenious commentary on bad fashion, I share with you my favorite entry ….

On his blog Johnny Virgil writes: “This kid looks like he’s pretending to be David Soul, who is pretending to be a cop who is pretending to be a pimp that everyone knows is really an undercover cop. Who is pretending to be 15.”

A deadly accurate description I’d say … To read the whole thing go here …

God in heaven… To make matters worse that this my wife actually made me a couple of leasure suits with vests. One was a brown and white stripe, and had brown stacked shiney shoes to go with the belt. And to make it even worse she made me an outfit from same pattern which was made of drapery fabric, blue, burgandy, and cream check, real heavy. I wore a white crepe long sleeved shirt with both outfits, and oh yes navy blue stacked shiney shoes with the last outfit. How horrible was that? I, at the time thought I was the coolest dude in town, especially when we went out on the town to the dance clubs. Dinner dancing, and hell yes they left us in looing like that. I was a heavy tipper. LOL !!! I looked like I should have been part of the live show bands that played in these upscale places. I cannot wait to have my wife read all of these comments and look at the flashbacks. Like one person said on this blog, wait 30 years and they will be laughing at what we are wearing now. Great, dude, I will laugh at this for weeks. Mick in Ohio
