Alefest - the morning after.

With coupons good for 20 tastes of craft beers the Lounge Lizards embarked on their first Alefest adventure. And what fun it was!

The weather could not have been more perfect with, as one friend of ours put it, an Andrew Wyeth sky floating behind the Carillon, coupled with low humidity and mild summer temperatures a great day to enjoy beer.

My two favorites for the day were Cincinnati brew Christian Moerlein’s “Over the Rhine” and Wychwood’s “Hobgoblin” and Eurobrew’s “Monty Python’s Holy Grail.” All are beers I would definitely seek the next time we’re about on the town and without the Alefest I might not have ever discovered.

The next morning I have to admit my tummy was a little queasy. It may have been from the huge varieties of beers sampled during the afternoon, but It also might have been that we were having such a good time we kept the party going long after the festival was over.

The Alefest was great fun that not only helped the Lounge Lizards to learn a little more about beer but also to support Diabetes Association of the Dayton Area, the charity recipient of proceeds raised during the event.
Here’s a link to some of the photos from the fest. Read story about Alefest.

If you’re looking to learn more about craft beers and sample a huge variety Alefest should be on your calendar for next year… it’s on ours!

Were you there Saturday? Any thoughts?
