Mayonnaise + Margarita = Mayogarita … ewwwww
So I’m surfing the net this morning as I am want to do, and I come across a story from Reuters that made me wretch and subsequently shudder … the headline read: “Mayo margaritas? Japan indulges its creamy passion.” Now dairy and cocktails occasionally go together to create a heavenly mixture - a holiday egg nog is the first and favorite that comes to mind, but mayonnaise? Really?? What’s next, powdered fish? A cauliflower and saffron reduction sauce? It begs the question: What’s the worst ingredient you’ve seen in a cocktail and better yet, what’s the worst ingredient you can think of in a cocktail? I would have said Mayonnaise but apparently someone thought of that already …

When I attended Marge Schott’s Haloween party a few years ago in Indian Hill the cocktails had eyeballs floating in them. Plastic ones.

While not a cocktail, at an amateur winemaking competition a few years ago, someone entered tomato-chili powder wine. It looked like a beautiful rose but its flavor would make a good marinade for buffalo wings.
