Best patio bar in Dayton?

After the passage of the smoking ban late last year the number of “Patio” areas in local bars dramatically increased giving smokers a chance to enjoy two of their favorite passions. Some of these “patios” are little more than a step with an awning. As Lounge Lizards we expect more; comfy seating, a bug free environment, great service and of course great drinks. So where are these patio gems hiding?

A few in the Oregon District come to mind - The Dublin Pub, out back at Cafe Boulevard or on the roof at the Oregon Express. Surely there are more. This seems to beg the question - just who has the best patio bar -with great drinks - speedy service - and most of all comfy sitting?

The best patio bar is at the Sunrise Cafe in Yellow Springs…it’s a well-kept secret that runs on weekend nights—the Sunrise Martini Lounge…they have fantastic drinks and sometimes…live music. It is hidden away behind the Cafe…but one must bear in mind that this is Yellow Springs so even the patio is non-smoking…you can pop out the back fence and have a puff in the alley if you must…love the new blog Alexis and Craig!

The patio at Milano’s in Miami Township is awesome! Room for at least 50 people, several tv’s and about 10 barstools at an actual bar make for a perfect evening under the stars!

clearly, you have not been to the trolley stop patio out behind the main bar, else you would not be asking this question…. it’s the coolest, clearly. quiet, pretty, uptown, with a hint of n’awlins or some other more exotic clime… it’s got my vote.

The best patio bar that is going away very soon is DJs on Main, where one has this absolutley fabulous view of the downtown Dayton skyline, esp in late afternoon, when the skyscrapers are just glowing in that golden light. You really feel urban in that place. For nice patio, just a real nice job on a patio, it has to be Argos in East Dayton. A lot of effort went into that place: pavers, landscaping, fence, etc.
