Schedule chaos

The school year is in full swing and there is plenty going on around the district. Here are some of the things on my radar screen. What do you have going on?

The Lakota West freshmen have been attending an activities fair during lunch to help them get involved in the district. It ends tomorrow, and I will be there to see how successful it was.

Oct. 2-4 the Nirupama Studio in Liberty Twp. is hosting a workshop for Bharathnatyam dancers. This will focus on Indian dance as well as other world cultures.

Oct. 4 is the Lakota Optimist Run for Youth event. More than 700 Lakota students are expected to turn out for this 1.5 mile fun run at Voice of America Park.

The Lakota East Freshman Campus dedication is 1 p.m. Oct. 5. Also that day at 8 p.m. is the airing of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with the West Chester Twp. Akers family.

Holiday classics on a stage near you [things to do]

A Christmas Carol

What would the holidays be without Scrooge and a little bah humbug? The Human Race Theatre opens its version of the classic tale "A Christmas Carol," Thursday, Dec. 4. The show runs through Dec. 21 at the Loft Theatre, 126 N. Main St. Tickets are $33 to $40 for adults and half price for children. Also, La Comedia in Springboro is featuring "Miracle on 34th Street" Wednesdays through Sundays through Dec. 31. Tickets are $47-$65 for adults, $25 for ages 11 and younger. More »
