Dollar Tree getting spooky

Several recent visits to the Dollar Tree in Beavercreek (near the mall) have revealed more and more Halloween items are already out. And let me tell you, they have stepped it up this year.

I’ve always found some great bargains for Halloween decor and party supplies at the DT, but this year the gory decor availability has vastly improved. This year they have fake, severed bloody hands and feet; packages of bloody gauze; a wide variety of foam tombstones (different shapes and designs with slight color variations); plastic “Butcher Shop” and “Beware of Zombies” signs that are of course, bloody; fake black birds, bones and skulls and more. Some of these items are the same (or very similar) as the ones you can find (and pay $5-$15+ for!) at Halloween specialty stores.

They don’t seem to have these items listed on the Web site, but they are listing some of their fall and harvest items. Keep in mind the Web site pricing is to buy in bulk and most of the items are available in single quantities for $1.

I’m sure they’ll continue to add more fall and Halloween items as the season gets closer so I’ll keep checking back. Have you spotted any stores with Halloween merchandise out yet? Seen any of the “we’re only here for a few months a year” Halloween specialty stores (Halloween USA, Halloween Express, Spirit, etc.) pop up in random shopping centers yet? Let me know!
