Mom will be charmed with a shiny new charm bracelet for Mother’s Day

Things Remembered has recently released a new line of charms and charm bracelets, perfect for moms of all kinds.

They have an exclusive “Mother’s Day Charm Bracelet” with 3 pre-picked charms if you’re in a hurry for $70. All you have to do is figure out what to engrave on the backs, if anything. They also have one for new mommies, also for $70. $70 is by no means cheap but it is a savings from buying the bracelet and 3 charms separately (most are $20 each).

Does mom already have a charm bracelet? See all of Things Remembered’s new charms and select one that’s just right for mom to add to her collection.

Not a charm bracelet fan? Peruse this selection of other personalized gifts for moms and grandmas.

Free Mother’s Day gifts at Michaels

Starting on Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m. Michaels craft stores will kick off their week of Mother’s Day events. Every day of the week through Mother’s Day (which is Sunday, May 10) the stores will feature workshops (select hours) to make and take crafts that will work nicely as Mother’s Day gifts. And the best part of all? These events and crafts are FREE! Items include handmade cards, t-shirts, photo keepsake plates and corsages. A few of them require the purchase of some materials (t-shirt, picture frame) but the decorating supplies are available to use for free.

If you’ve got children in your life that want to make something special for mom but money is tight (or let’s face it in this economy - non-existent), this seems like an excellent idea for gifts that any mother would love. View the complete calendar for dates, times and details for each of these events.

Later this week, more Mother’s Day gift ideas.

Easter Bunny trauma?

Warning: This one’s not for the kids who still believe.

Is it just me or are the mall Easter Bunnies looking worse and worse these days? Sometimes I see one that’s reasonably adorable (though still looking nothing like a bunny) but most of the time they are frightening. And, well, ugly.

A friend of mine recently told me she wasn’t going to take her young child to see the Easter Bunny because she didn’t want to scar her for life. I don’t blame her.

Some of these bunnies look like they are about to eat the small children on their laps and I saw a photo of one the other day that looked almost as though it was wearing a bath robe instead of a suit. What is going on here?

Do you worry about traumatizing your kids by bringing them to see the Easter Bunny? Have you had a bad Bunny experience? Or do you love the Easter Bunny anyway? Share your stories below.
