Man drives to local hospital after being shot

HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — A dispute over a girl Wednesday, Nov. 26, escalated to gunshots with the shooting victim showing up at Good Samaritan Hospital, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are investigating what led to the shooting at the Northland Village Apartments, 1952 Republic Drive, at about 6:30 p.m.

The victim’s identity, along with the shooter’s, has not been released but he expected to survive a single gunshot wound to the upper body, Sheriff Phil Plummer said.

The female told deputies the victim tried to intervene in a physical fight she was having with a male acquaintance, according to a sheriff’s report. The man she was fighting with then pulled out a gun and fired, the report stated.

The wounded man then jumped into his car and drove to the hospital, Plummer said. He has since been treated and released from the hospital.

The shooter is still at large, Plummer said. Anyone with information is urge to call 911 immediately.

If this incident teaches anything; don’t get involved in someones domestic dispute. ” STAY OUT THE WAY” and dial 911.

Bulldoze it? Now there’s an interesting idea. Just like “bulldoze the public housing projects” so that all of the “displaced” residents can receive Section 8 vouchers - - - to move out of “the projects” and into everyone else’s neighborhood. Might Steve be an Ohio Lawmaker using this rationale?

I agree with Steve, but I’m scared that if it is bulldozed, they will get section 8 or some other form of subsidize housing, and move into my neighborhood. I say keep that s**t over there.

I AM BEGINNING TO THINK DDN IS PUTTING THESE STORIES UP FOR COMMENT SO THE RACIST PEOPLE OF DAYTON CAN RANT AND RAVE. SAVE IT FOR CRAIGSLIST RANTS AND RAVES. THIS TYPE OF THING HAPPENS EVERYWHERE. WHITE PEOPLE ARE JUST MORE SECRETIVE ABOUT IT. SHADY, YOU COULD CALL IT.

And why shouldn’t “these” people get section 8 vouchers to live in your neighborhood? They should all stay in mine? You can run but you can’t hide; as the city goes so does the suburbs. Get your head out of the sand, they are coming yor way; better put those bars on your windows and learn to lock your doors and keep your curtains shut so “they” don’t see your big screen T.V. and make it their own.

Yes, more of these single moms with wild kids and baby daddys are living in Englewood, Trotwood, Huber, Clayton, Kettering as well as Dayton. When the projects like Arlington Courts, Parkside and Desoto Bass were full we didn’t have these problems as wide spread as they are now. I say put more of them in those lofts downtown and keep the burbs safe.

“…victim’s identity, along with the shooter’s, has not been released but he EXPECTED to survive…” “Anyone with information is URGE to call 911 immediately.” Great writing Lucas. Where the heck was your editor? In the men’s room? And what information? There IS no information here. No name. No description. I always thought a reporter’s job was supposed to be to REPORT. Who, what, when where, and why. Lately, most of this has been sorely lacking from the stories in the DDN. But, I understand, it’s Dayton; and like most folks in Dayton, you guys just simply don’t care.

First off….He was doing a favor by trying to help a WOMAN that was being Beaten by another MAN! None of you all are God so who are any of you to say that he should not have gooten into the situation at hand, buit how you didnt know that he didn’t want to see this woman die at his sight. And Blacks aren’t the only ones living there. Its jsut as many whites as blacks and anyother race thats there. And how are you to make a decision on tearing down peoples homes, their lives. I coulgo on and on about you, but its just flat out low minded of you to act this way. Find God them talk of the situation. Just as must killing and shooting going on in the inner city, just the same where you stay. Its there, quite running from it and do something about it. P.S. I feel safer in the inner city, then I do in a suburban neighborhood, and thats just keeping it all the way real…!

With the economy spiraling seemingly out of control, many people would do anything for a little treasure. On Saturday, Jan. 10, the Centerville-Washington Park District is attempting to give parkgoers just that. Grant Park, 501 Normandy Ridge Road in Centerville, is hosting an event called Cabin Fever Cache, offering a reason to get into the great outdoors despite cold temperatures. The event revolves around geocaching, a growing trend that is part time capsule, part treasure hunt. Think it sounds like something only a few nerdy, tree-hugging types might be into? Think again.
