TV shows like "America's Best Dance Crew" and "So You Think You Can Dance" have have probably inspired some people to bust out their own dance moves at the bar, at home or wherever. Our guess is most people need some help — and Venus Fly Trap is here to deliver on Sunday, July 6. The hip-hop dance group will lead 50-minute classes at PlayThink Learning Studio at 411 E. Fifth St. More »
It's officially July, which means it's time for a Will Smith action blockbuster. Mr. July's offering this year is Hancock, in which he plays a scruffy superhero with a crippling drinking problem. Hancock is a public relations nightmare to say the least, so by complete coincidence he saves the life of a PR consultant, played by Jason Bateman, and tries to clean up his image. More »

I agree. “The Story Changes” should definitely be a nominee; not just for longevity, but as a quality band with quality musicians and song writing who are building a national following. Another soon to be famous gem in the Dayton music scene.

I know that one of the biggest overall draws would have to be “The Story Changes” as they have been around for a long time. Other than that I would say “The Great American Beast” “Marilyn Avenue” and “The Devil Wears Prada” have probably the biggest fan followings and each are worthy of having press about their band. Let me know if you need any more.

I would like to nominate The Hathaways for Best Local Rock Band. They’ve been playing in Dayton for many years and deserve to be heard. The Hathaways members incude musicians from past WTUE Homegrown albums. They know how to rock a crowd!
