Borat and alcohol don’t mix
So a pair of frat boys that made obnoxious drunken statements in “Borat” have sued the filmmakers, saying that the movie showed them “engaged in behavior that they otherwise would not have engaged in.”
Well, now. Looks like my statement about “Borat” appealing mainly to people who have been drunk or stoned at least once in their life isn’t entirely correct.
On the other hand, I find the lawsuit hilarious because it plays right into the hands of Sacha Baron Cohen, who made the movie to expose, among other things, the often unseemly social graces of Americans. I’ve always hated the drunken frat boy culture, so I see this as poetic justice. Lesson one: Don’t drink heavily before signing a release form. I expect the judge to toss this lawsuit faster than a drunk tosses his cookies.

I can see the judge now: “Frat boys don’t normally get drunk and stay stupid things? Case dismissed.”
