It’s nice that he’s calm, but President Obama needs to get tough and literally start smacking his rivals around, comedian Bill Maher said on “The David Letterman Show” Thursday, Nov. 5.

Maher said Obama gives great speeches, but so did Muhammad Ali.
“It helped that every once in a while he (Ali) punched somebody in the face. And that’s what I would like this president to do, punch somebody in the face,” Maher said.

In a portion of a “Good Morning America’s” interview aired Thursday, Rihanna said going back to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after he beat her was a mistake.
The pop singer says she was blinded by L.O.V.E and didn’t realize the influence her action could have on young women and girls experiencing domestic violence.
She urged domestic violence victims to leave the relationship.
“Don’t react off of love,” she said. “‘F’ love. Come out of the situation and look at it third person for what it really is and then make your decision because love is so blind.”
In her first TV interview since the beating, the 21-year-old said she was ashamed that she loved a batterer and humiliated that the matter was so public.
“I am strong. This happened to me. I didn’t cause this. I didn’t do it,” she said. “This happened to me and it could happen to anyone.”
Brown, 20, was arrested Feb. 8, hours after he was accused of beating Rihanna after the couple attended a pre-Grammy Awards party. He later pleaded guilty to felony assault.
More of the interview will air on Friday’s “Good Morning America” and then Friday evening on ABC’s “20/20.”

Don’t let the pretty face or the once being married to Tom Cruise thing fool you.
Nicole Kidman is apparently very, very kinky.
Well, that at least what she claims in the latest edition of British GQ magazine, according to The UK’s Daily Mail.
Nicole Kidman is apparently very naughty. Who knew? Huh.
‘I’ve explored obsession. I’ve explored loss and love in terms of being in a grief-stricken place, I’ve explored strange sexual fetish stuff, I’ve explored the mundane aspect of marriage, and monogamy,’ she says according to the newspaper.
The Oscar-winning actress wears what looks like an old skool Playboy Bunny underwear thingy on the magazine’s cover.
She describes her current marriage to country singer Keith Urban as ‘raw’ and ‘dangerous.’
“It’s a very extraordinary, adventurous place to be: incredibly raw, incredibly dangerous and you’re very much out at sea. You’re exposed. You could drown.” She says. “When you commit to someone like that, you live and die together by that decision.”
Good for you Nicole. Good for you (I think)!

First lady Michelle Obama also receives special recognition in the magazine on stands now. Others in the list include Amy Poehler, Marissa Mayer, Jane Aronson, Maria Shriver and Susan Rice.
While it can’t be denied that Rihanna is a fashion trendsetter, can anyone call her a “woman of the year” with a straight face?
She didn’t exactly set a good example for her fans by reportedly initially going back to abusive ex- boyfriend Chris Brown. The pair ultimately split.
Still the unfortunate segment in the young singer’s life ( she says she went to sleep Rihanna and woke up Britney Spears) did bring attention to teenage domestic violence and she is speaking up now.
Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.
What do you think of the list? Who would you add? Who would you remove?

Now this is the sort of thing that can happen when celebrities get together for the greater good..
Sugartree Ministry Center received a special visitor this week, director Allen Willoughby said Friday, Oct. 30.
After receiving a surprise phone call from TV talk show host Rachael Ray Monday, Oct. 26, Willoughby discovered Carter Oosterhouse of HGTV’s “Carter Can” home remodel show in the soup kitchen.
He was floored seeing Oosterhouse and even more shocked to learn Oosterhouse was there to give the kitchen that feeds 200 to 250 needy people a day an extreme makeover.

“It’s just amazing. It’s a real answer to a pray. We live by faith. What we have is what we use. This will make it more effective,” Willoughby said. “It’s just been wonderful.”
Willoughby said he can’t wait to see the outcome.
“They are totally, totally remodeling it,” he said.
The remodeled kitchen will be unveiled next weekend when Ray visits Wilmington Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7 and 8., to tape her show and host a free Thanksgiving meal for needy residents.
The show will air Nov. 25.
Ray is inviting Wilmington residents who have faced economic hardship to the free Thanksgiving dinner Sunday at the Roberts Convention Centre.
Wilmington residents were rocked when DHL, that community’s major employer, announced last year that it was leaving.
The soup kitchen, an effort by 31 regional churches, has double the number of people it serves since last year, Willoughby said.

Cincinnati native and former 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey will attend the dinner, according to Ray’s representatives.
“The Rachael Ray Show,” which will tape an episode, also plans to visit Sugartree Soup Kitchen.
Wilmington residents were rocked when DHL, that community’s major employer, announced last year that it was leaving.
The company has ceased most operations there.
“We can’t fix the economy, but we can do our part - and what we know about is food. So if you’re worried about a Thanksgiving meal, you can relax - we’ve got a plan,” a message posted the The Rachael Ray Show website says.
Celebrities do the craziest things. When they do, Amelia Robinson will bring you the latest pop culture headlines and have a little fun at the celebrities' expense. Now, on with the show!
"Back to the '80s," an area premiere, opens Friday, Nov. 6, for three weekends in Kettering. The retro show is an account of 1989 high school senior class, as recalled by a man in his 30s. Unrequited love, popularity (and its opposite), a debate about CDs replacing cassette tapes, student elections, a stolen speech, new kids in school and an English teacher in a magazine centerfold are among the plot lines. There are 20 songs, including "Footloose," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "You Give Love a Bad Name." Like, totally awesome! » More
