Globetrotters to visit Wright Patt tomorrow

The cheers you hear at Wright Patterson Air Force Base tomorrow will have nothing to do with airplanes, but flight will be involved.

The Harlem Globetrotters will visit the Prairies Child Youth Complex 4:30 p.m. as part of its educational program for youth called “C.H.E.E.R. for Character.”

The legendary theatrical basketball team will share the benefits of character development for youth through the program focused on cooperation, healthy mind and body, effort, enthusiasm and responsibility.

The program was designed with the U.S. Department of Education.

Slick Willie Shaw will talk to the children and there will be a short basketball demonstration.

The Globetrotters will play at Wright State’s Nutter Center 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31.

I still think it’s pretty awesome that the Globetrotters play in Dayton every New year’s Eve.
