Anchors booted from morning show
When the “Early Show” cleans house it really cleans house.
The CBS morning show has booted anchors Maggie Rodriguez and Harry Smith as well as weatherman Dave Price from its lineup.
Erica Hill and Chris Wragge will be the new co-anchors. Jeff Glor will be news anchor and Marysol Castro will come aboard as weather anchor.
Hill and Wragge were in training to take their new roles. They began co-anchoring the Saturday edition of the Early Show in 2008.
Smith isn’t exactly out of the CBS family.
He will be the primary substitute anchor on The Evening News with Katie Couric, Face the Nation and Sunday Morning.
The network says it is looking for something for Rodriguez and Price to do.

Not unexpected, since CBS is probably still in last place, but the new team isn’t likely to do much better. Morning shows are a matter of habit, and as long as your favorite show is ‘ok,’ then you’ll watch. When there’s a bump in the road, you’ll look for a replacement. But what has the CBS management done to help? Hmmm… Anybody? Bueller? Now if CBS were to talk the perky Katie to come to work in the morning… that might help. But someone (maybe Katie) has it in their head that she now ‘belongs’ on the evening news desk.

I can’t stand either one Smith or Rodriguez. They always put too much personal twist into things, instead of just reporting and letting us digest details. They always acted like they were part of the Obamba campaign team! Good ridance!

Harry Smith is the only anchor that has any seasonings. All the other anchors are still wet behind the ears

Don’t really care in the first place I don’t watch the show.I know Harry Smith retired once,they asked him to come back cause the ratings were down,so the ratings will go down again,the show will be canceled,far as Dave Price goes,I couldn’t stand him,glad he’s gone!
