Were Chris Brown’s tears during MJ performance real or really fake?
And the Academy Award for best fake crying goes to R&B wunderkind Chris Brown…
In his first major performance since he beat up Rihanna and got sentenced to sort of working on the chain gang, the singer just couldn’t hold it together.
As fans cheer and sang along, Brown did his best Michael Jackson impression during Sunday night’s BET Awards.
Brown did his fallen idol proud during performances of “Remember the Time,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Billie Jean,” but cried like a baby during “Man in the Mirror.”
But some people are calling them crocodile tears.
Either he was legitimately overcome with emotion or trying for an Oscar. Either it was a comeback or a ‘come on.’
You make this all important call: were the tears real or make believe?

I believe his tears were real, he had a relationship with MJ (R.I.P.) and didnt get to properly say goodbye to his idol. I just dont understand why ppl cant forgive him but act like its ok to forgive r. kelly. And how many other “role models” have been forgiven for the same things. He made a mistake and no one will know the story in entirety. Its time to let him get on with his life. Hes only getting this foul treatment because he was known as the “wonder kid” of r&b. The media was waiting for him to do something and everyone feeds into it. Do u know how many females get killed daily because of violent relationships but u dont see those guys on the news.

I believe that Chris Brown really was crying. i dont think that is was a stunt. Micheal Jackson really was his idol and he never got to pay his respect last year because of what happend with Rihanna. I forgave Chris along time ago, everyone makes mistakes. I really loved the performance. It was GREAT! a perfect 10 in my book.

His tears were real. It’s sad that you would pull this sensationalist bull in order to get more views/comments on your article. Poor journalism on your part.

Why would you question such a thing people? If someone special in your life died today and you had to wait a year, a whole year to say goodbye wouldn’t you cry. This boy has been through so much and now you are going to try and bring him down some more? Really get real everyone one makes mistakes heck when I re-read what I’m writing now I’ll probably find 5 million mistakes, its part of being human. He has manned up took responsible for his action’s so let it go. Chris had a beautiful performance I almost thought I was watching M.J himself. In short YES his tears were real and you should be ashamed for questioning such a touching moment.

Chris Brown is a man’s man. He knew how to keep his woman in line and not let his biatch run his life. Sadly, his breed dying out. Most men nowdays are pu$$ywhipped.

Get real Get Real. I am sure he already said goodbye to the person he loved and if he’s been “through so much” it is because he brought it on himself.

I say his tears was real..heck we all have shed a tear about MJ death. So for chris brown to get up there and perform one of the artist he looked up to and a music legend, he probably was overcome with emoptions. Ok he did what he did people make mistakes everyday. And last time I checked nobody is GOD so who are we to judge him or not forgive chris..I say the tears were real!

And this discussion is necessary because….? I grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and watched Michael come into in his own. Thus far, this is the best tribute that I have seen and yes, Chris appeared to be genuinely overcome by grief and emotion.
By right.....

I would be more inclined to believe Chris’ tears were real if he’d shown anywhere near that much emotion apologizing to Rihanna. Excuses and no tears. ‘He’s been through so much’??? And who caused that?

I believe his tears were real and were felt throughout the whole audience. It’s a shame how people are such haters. They couldn’t wait to ask that question. Not only was he crying for the idol we all loved so dearly but I’m sure he was reliving all the things he has been through this past year. If you listen to the words to that particular song that he broke down on, it was clearly speaking to him. He has been barred from other events and it probably felt so good to be able to perform again and be loved by the crowd. So I think it was more than just Michael Jackson. The performance was awesome!

His tears were real! Like seriously, AS a WOMAN 100% AGAINST domestic violence. The man made a horrible mistake…let him live. None of us are judges and Im sure Chris has answered to the only judge that opinion matters, HIM! We forgave R.Kelly, David Justice, Eric Bonet, Tiger Woods (just to name a few) and these were grown A*S men who should know better. Although Chris should have too, he’s still a kid! Kids make mistakes, lets stand behind him & tell him he is still loved and respected. Not trash him and make him feel like less of the man that he truly is!!! Chris I believe u have changed. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me….that’s all im saying!

Fake tears! He realizes how good he had it up until he beat that woman. No one should support the abuser and if they were tears it’s because his cash flow is not what it use to be…He can now add acting to his resume of singing, dancing and boxing..

I believe his tears were REAL. Chris Brown loved Michael Jackson that was his idol and he never got to do a tribute because of the incident with Rihanna. I do not condone domestic violence but people act like he is the ONLY celebrity in history who has put his hands on a woman. Nobody else was black balled like he was and that was very unfair. Out of all the tributes to Michael, Chris’s was THE BEST!!!

Those people make the news, just not on a national scale like those on a celebrity level. And the folks that dont make the BIG news get a far worse sentence than the well known!! What a shame that is!!!
