Nicollette Sheridan claims “Desperate Housewives” creator hit her in the face

It seems there may have been more to Edie Britt’s sudden death on Wisteria Lane last year.

Actress Nicollette Sheridan has filed a $20 million lawsuit against “Desperate Housewives” claiming assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Sheridan, who played Britt, says Marc Cherry, the ABC show’s creator, hit her in the face and then killed her character off after she reported the assault to the network.

The lawsuit claims Cherry took Sheridan “aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head” after she questioned something in his script.

Cherry’s abuse allegedly didn’t stop with the blond bombshell.

Sheridan claims he was abusive to other cast members, saying that he hoped “Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.”

In a statement published by People, ABC said they investigated and found Sheridan’s accusations to be without merit.
