Pete Townshend bares his belly at the Super Bowl

Yep, you should totally wear a T-shirt if you plan to whirl your arms around during the Super Bowl and you aren’t exactly into working your abs.

Pete Townshend, 64, proved as much during the Who’s half-time performance at the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7.

The band’s show was thrilling to say the least, but maybe someone (anyone) should have told Pete to button those bottom buttons or at least wear a T-shirt.

Check out Pete’s belly below.

I did not notice a problem. The man used to be malnourished with no flesh on his bones - I thought he looked healthier than he had in years.

The man is 64 years old. He still moved pretty well for that age. They gave a decent show for their age. Let’s see how well you move and what you look like at 64, Amelia. The Who made some good music back in the day. Embrace it.

ohgoodlord - You can’t talk about how good they sounded? No, obviously you have to have something to complain about…

Oh, come now. You’re telling us you didn’t notice the belly? You didn’t find yourself averting your eyes? Yes, they made good music, but that belly is the stuff of nightmares.

Unlike the pop tarts who bare their bellies today, Pete Townshend writes his own songs, and plays an instrument. And he wasn’t created by a producer. He’s the real deal. Respect the talent.

At least it wasn’t a “wardrobe malfunction” and something even scarier was shown. Who cares what someone looks like, “YourPaperSucks”. Get over yorself, freakboy.

The Who should have given up years ago. They may have been good at one time but not last night. Whoever is in charge of entertainment for the Super Bowl should really be looking for something else, because the last few have not been enternaining at ALL

Amen, PDK16. To “By”: The Who made music that lasts. And they actually play their instruments and sing without computers “enhancing” their voices. Very few of today’s “stars” will be able to be performing 40+ years after their prime. Most of today’s performers won’t be remembered by anyone other than music trivia buffs.

The Who is a bunch of no-talent geriatrics who have made a lot of money appealing to people who have neither brains nor taste.

Thought The Who sounded like crap last night. I love their music, but that was music written decades ago. That’s what bothers me when the classic bands come back out.. they either don’t understand that their bodies change over the years, and the voice isn’t the same as it was, or they just can face the reality of growing older.

Quadrophenia: It was not a great performance. But I think they rose to the occasion and gave a bunch of meathead football fans as much as they deserved.

Why wasn’t Tom Petty in the poll? I thought they did a great half time show too! The Who sounded great, but I don’t like them because of the child predator playing guitar.

Music was great, but that belly blinded me. If he were a lady singer you all would be singing a different song.
