Sarah Palin signs deal with Fox News

We now know Sarah Palin’s next move.

The pitbull in lipstick has landed a job with FOX News.

The former Alaska governor will be a regular Fox News commentator, the cable channel announced Monday.

Palin, who has a journalism background, can’t wait to get started.

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,” Palin said in a statement. “It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.”

Palin, who ran for vice president in 2008, will take part in special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting. She will also host episodes of Fox’s “Real American Stories.”

How will Palin do?

Speculation over, Simon leaving ‘American Idol’

Sometimes rumor is not just rumor.

“American Idol” judge Simon Cowell have confirmed that he’ll leave the popular FOX competition at the end of the season, according to a statement from FOX Broadcasting

Cowell plans to launch an American version of his hit British show “The X Factor” on FOX in 2011.

“I’m thrilled that we have put a date on the launch of the U.S. version of ‘The X Factor,’ and delighted to be continuing to work with Fox,” Cowell said in the statement released by FOX “We have a fantastic relationship, a great team and are all very excited about this.”

Cowell launched The X Factor n the U.K. in 2004. It is seen in 17 countries worldwide with a global audience of more than 500 million.

Cowell will serve as the American version’s executive producer and a judge.

This is all good for Cowell, but what about people who secretly enjoy watching him make American Idol contestants cry.

Hopefully the show will fine someone to fill Simon’s less than friendly slacks.

Randy, Kara and new judge Ellen DeGeneres are too nice.

Over the years, American Idol fans have developed a love hate relationship with Simon. Will you miss him?

DISSED! What should Conan Do?

Getting dissed is never easy. Being dissed in front of the nation … geez.

Needless to say Conan O’Brien can’t be too pleased that NBC is tearing a way his time slot and giving it to Jay Leno.

If you haven’t heard, Jay is going be back on NBC at 11:35 p.m. for a half hour show.

How could he be anything but disappointed?

The leggy redhead fought long and hard to get the “Tonight Show” gig. Mere months after finally landing it, it is snatched a way.

What would you do in Conan’s shoes? They are very large. (AP Photo/Damian Dovarganes)

But what should Conan do?

* Word has it that FOX is interested in stealing him from NBC.

* NBC is not totally kicking Conan to the curb. They’ve offered him a show at 12:05 a.m. At least he’s still better than Jimmy Fallon who would come on at 1:05 a.m.

* Conan could always leave late night altogether or go nuts, revealing all of the network’s deep dark secrets. (it’s a corporation, I am sure he knows some.)

What do you think Conan should do? While you’re at it, whose your favorite late night host? Click here to let us know.

Balloon Boy’s dad goes to the slammer, is this the last we’ll hear of the Heenes?

He started his jail sentence today, Monday, Jan. 11, but something tells me the world hasn’t heard the last from this nation’s #1 balloon dad.

Richard Heene turned himself into the Larimer County Detention Center for a 90 day sentence.

He must serve 30 days before he can enter a work release program , the Associated Press said.

Heene pleaded guilty last month to attempting to influence a public servant in connection to the spellbinding Oct. 15 Balloon Boy hoax.

But Heene now claims he honestly, ‘truthfully’ believed his 6-year-old son Falcon was inside the balloon the world watched floating high, high, high in the Colorado sky.

Heene even cried, cried, cried (sort of) in interviews about the case.

“The Wife Swap” subject said he pleaded guilty to the charges to appease authorities and save his wife from being deported to Japan, according to the AP.

Richard’s bride Mayumi Heene reportedly confessed the hoax. The mother of three little balloons pleaded guilty to filing a false report and faces 20 days in the Larimer County jail.

Sheriff’s investigators say she detailed her family’s intent to get a television show, and discussed their financial troubles.

Richard told the AP that his wife was just confused and didn’t know what the word “hoax” really meant.

“My wife’s first language is Japanese, not English,” Heene said. “My wife came home in tears wondering what she might have said. She opened this Japanese-to-English dictionary, and she walks up to me crying her head off, and she says to me, ‘I thought hoax meant an exhibition.’”

Oh and he says Falcon, who initially spilled the beans (“we did it for a show”) , doesn’t understand English either, Heene recently told CNN’s Larry King.

Yeah, right! Liar, Liar balloon’s on fire.

The sentencing judge said the the Heene’s could not profit from the incident in any way for four years, but I am thinking that where there is a will there is a reality show producer.

What do you think?
