Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley fire back at ‘vicious lies’ about daughter

They maybe divorced, but Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley are united in the fight against what they are calling false reports about their 23-year-old daughter.

The superstar former couple says that a New York Post story about their daughter’s recent suicide attempt was “filled with vicious lies and attempts to smear our character and that of our beloved daughter,” the Associated Press reports.

In an article Tuesday, Dec. 8, The Post claimed Alexa Ray Joel attempted suicide after a fight with her mother during a family vacation ‘from hell’ in Turks and Caicos.

Brinkley and Joel asked the public and media to consider the source before drawing conclusions.

The mean-spirited article makes Brinkley sound like a mix between Joan Crawford and Freddy Krugger.

It claimed the supermodel bashed Billy Joel constantly and urged her daughter to stay “slim at all costs” even if it meant spitting out brownies.

Now what kind of psycho would spit out a brownie?

You would kill yourself too if a supermodel was your mom but you got the looks of your bubble eyed bloodhound face father.

I saw a picture of her and did think, “Wow, she doesn’t look a thing like Christy Brinkley.” Seriously though, no parent would like their worst parenting moment caught and displayed in the public eye.

I would say to let her be. If she’s having issues, she and her family will help her deal with them. Don’t we all have things we have to deal with?
