Rihanna GMA interview: ‘F’ love … leave batterer

In a portion of a “Good Morning America’s” interview aired Thursday, Rihanna said going back to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after he beat her was a mistake.

The pop singer says she was blinded by L.O.V.E and didn’t realize the influence her action could have on young women and girls experiencing domestic violence.

She urged domestic violence victims to leave the relationship.

“Don’t react off of love,” she said. “‘F’ love. Come out of the situation and look at it third person for what it really is and then make your decision because love is so blind.”

In her first TV interview since the beating, the 21-year-old said she was ashamed that she loved a batterer and humiliated that the matter was so public.

“I am strong. This happened to me. I didn’t cause this. I didn’t do it,” she said. “This happened to me and it could happen to anyone.”

Brown, 20, was arrested Feb. 8, hours after he was accused of beating Rihanna after the couple attended a pre-Grammy Awards party. He later pleaded guilty to felony assault.

More of the interview will air on Friday’s “Good Morning America” and then Friday evening on ABC’s “20/20.”

I say to all women to leave an abuser. Rihanna timing is suspect to come out and speak now since she has a new album coming out, makes it suspect. She should have said this a long time ago.

I dont think Rhianna should feel responsible for every young person that is in an abusive relationship. The responsibility should lie on the parents of these people. She should not live her life according to what other people think. She seems to be miserable without Chris and I bet she played a big part in the fight other than not letting the ex-girlfriend go. I dont condone what Chris did but there are still alot of things that noone knows but the two of them. Being a role model dosent mean that you are the reason people do what they do.
