Singer punched in face by fan who screamed “I love you”

A pop singer’s fan has a very twisted way of expressing his “love.”

Singer Leona Lewis was punched in the side of the face during a London book signing Wednesday, Oct. 14, according to the BBC.

According to Metro, the singer’s 29-year-old accused attacker screamed “I love you” as Lewis ran away.

Her response, “I don’t love you.”

The attack shocked Lewis’ fans.

“He walked up there with a book, she signed it, Leona Lewis signed it, and as she looked up he just punched her,” a eyewitness told the BBC. “You actually heard the impact.”

The man was arrested after the attack.

“The security all jumped on him and they were trying to pull him out and he was just laughing,” another witness told the network.

The singer, who was signing copies of her new book, “Dreams,” was shocked by the attack, but not seriously harmed.

Lewis, a three-time Grammy, will release her second album in next month.

That is a different way to show someone that you care about them. Personally I would try the candy and flowers angle, then the romantic dinner for two and then use the fist as a last resort.

It’s really not funny, but your comments are making me laugh. This is why some stars don’t do meet and greets, they are afraid of the fans. You never know who is going to flip out and attack someone. Anybody remember the crowds at Cincinnati’s Who concert where people were trampled and killed?

Or, ever hear of John Lennon and Mark David Chapman, Shirley? More paralell than your Who/Cincinnati angle…

The Who concert is apples to oranges. That was caused by fans mistaking the sound check for the actual concert and trying to pile through doors that weren’t yet open. This is more akin (though not as extreme) to Mark David Chapman asking for John Lennon’s autograph only to kill him six hours later.

This is kind of funny. Obviously, the guy wasn’t a real fan and he just wanted a few minutes of fame. If he was a real fan though, I’d be scared. That’s a little on the INSANE side.

Think spring with help from art exhibit [things to do]

California Impressionism

So you're ready for spring and you'd love to get away from it all, but that simply isn't in the picture at the moment. Well, thanks to the Dayton Art Institute and The Irvine Museum, what is in the picture is a soothing alternative: a visit back in time to California's lush and gorgeous landscapes in an era when they were still pristine. "All Things Bright & Beautiful," the new exhibit that recently opened at the DAI, is aptly named. The colorful collection of 60 turn-of-the century California Impressionist paintings is irresistible. Forty-four artists are represented. » More

LIke Asian food? Here are some restaurants worth trying [restaurants]

Asian food

The Miami Valley's Asian dining scene continues to welcome impressive newcomers as it blossoms and diversifies. Dayton-area Asian food enthusiasts now have access to great diversity of dishes and cuisines. Chinese cuisine dominated the Asian dining landscape 20 years ago and remains a potent force. But today there are far more Thai and Korean options available locally, and Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants, including sushi bars, have increased. Here's a sampler platter of a few of the relatively new (or newer) Asian restaurants well worth trying. More »
