Could it be no Jon, no Kate, no plus eight? Jon gets show shut down
If he doesn’t have a show, apparently Jon Gosselin doesn’t want his estranged wife to have one either.
A day after learning he was being dropped like a bad habit from the title of his family’s reality show, Jon, AKA the number one dad of the universe, told TLC to shut down production of “Kate Plus Eight,” according to the Insider.
Gosselin, through his attorney, told the network to “cease and desist” production and leave his property.
“Jon realized his family was like a trainwreck, so he decided to put the brakes on the divorce and on the show because if he didn’t the family would be in a mortal accident the victims of a trainwreck,” the attorney, Mark Jay Heller told the Insider.
Really?
According to People.com, Gosselin’s manager, Mike Heller, says the decision is being made in the best interest of the Gosselin children.
“It’s been getting in the way of his family, his children are complaining,” Heller told People.
For now, Jon’s plan is apparently working. TLC announced Thursday, that it will suspend filming the children for the show until Jon and Kate work it out.
What do you think?
Is it time for the show to just go away?

According to a report I read, the show has not shut down. They are continuing to film Kate and others, but have stopped (pending the outcome of this action) ‘direct filming’ of the children. The lawyers on both sides are gonna love this. They’ll make a ton of cash from this.By Sue

Jon’s wife is letting TV celebrity get in the way of her family I fear. Family comes first, not fortune and fame.By Marianne

Jon just keeps showing what a big baby he is. If he can’t be the star of the show, he shuts the show down? Does that mean he’s going to get a job and support his children? If he shuts Kate out of the only money-making job in the whole family, who will support the kids? What a jerk. AFTER he gets a real job (other than being photographed in his new playboy life) THEN he can talk about shutting down the family’s only source of income. He was with the show for 4 years, and the day after he was cut from it, NOW it’s bad for his children. Bah! More selfishness from a 33 year old toddler.By Sheryl Cowers

Put those poor children in the custody of someone who truly loves them (grandparents?) and cancel that show. What a tragedy!By michele

I think Jon is just a big baby, and now that he knows he’s not part of the drama that he likes o so much he wants to put a stop to it. Now if the kids are saying they dont like it anymore then yes it should be shut down, but then dad of the year Jon needs to get a real job and not the one he has playing playboy to every young hoochy he can find. I think Kate is doing an amazing job making sure the kids get all the oppurtunities they can out of the show airing.By ohgodno

It’s time to de-rail the gravy train that Kate has been traveling on these past years. Time to stop exploiting these innocent kids to finance her lifestyle. Enough is enough. Way to go Jon!By David

Jon realizes his money train is over. Without the TV show his “celebrity” star doesn’t shine as bright. I think it’s pitiful that he hides behind what is best for the kids. Although I agree the kids having a real family life is better then the contrived one they have now. The less this family is on my TV the better off my family is.By Martha

Finally, one of them is showing some sense. Regardless of the reason, shutting down this show is the best thing for those kids. They need, and deserve, a normal life away from the public eye.By Scott

All three—TLC, Jon, and Kate are scumbags. They creates situations under false pretences in order to get footage for that joke of a show. They contacted a local realtor in the Richmond, Virginia area supposedly looking for a house—taped an entire episode of them looking at this house, having the realtors invest their time and effort—when they not only were never going to buy here, but had already signed to purchase another property. They did it all just for TLC and to get tape for an episode. Google this incident and you will find many similar experiences with this family and TLC.By tired of them all!

i think they should be shut down completely so we dont have to hear about them anymore. reality tv has ruined too many marriages/families at the expense of fortune and fame. now 8 children are the the lastest victims. let them grow up like normal human beings and stop production.By Terri

I don’t feel sorry for Kate - she treated Jon like crap for such a long time - she didn’t care if she was on camera or not - Jon has gone whacko with some freedom - if Kate continues on the show and they get divorced, she will end up paying Jon alimony - what started out as a good thing has become a disaster due to two star struck, greedy parents. I’m sure the lawyers are thinking “cha-ching”!By Michelle

This was a long time coming. A train wreck is an understatement. Whatever the reason and whoever came to thier senses, the show should stop and were parents then, and are parents now and should focus on those kids, before its too late. Bravo Jon for stopping all this craziness. Kate, get a real job with manual labor and Jon too.. Raise your kids together and stay out of the limelight. Seek counseling, therapy, and let those kids know you BOTh love them and its because of that love you are stopping the show. LEt them be normal.By omg are you kidding

i think dad is being very selfish simply because he not in the title anymore . kate should be aloud to continue with the show because not only does it show the hardships of a single perent household but it also will serve to give strength to those that are single parents,as i am . in my opinion as long as the children are being cared for and they are leading productive lives with the show going on then it should remain the way it is ,and not be caceled because jon is mad at the fact that his name was droped out of the title ,he still will have gains he just will not as much of an active part of the show, the kids are suffering because dad got mad . It takes 2 to make a relationship go bad , and add on the stress of all of the kids and things get euglier, be the bigger person for you kids sake and make them priority and not how much notoriaty or money you will make jon !!!By dopey one

“Kate Plus 8” is suppose to be show focusing on her being asingle parent. Are you kidding?? Come to my house. I’ll show you a struggle of single parenting. I don’t go on book tours and leave my child with a nanny. Shut this show down and kudos to Jon!By Karlee

I think Jon is a scumbag and needs to grow up. She had to complain just to get him to do anything to help with the kids. If he hadn’t been such a loser she could have let up on him. He is still a loser going around with young women and partying! He is only mad because he was dropped. Is he going to support them if the show is cancelled? You go Kate…what did you ever see in the loser?By null

I never even heard of these people until they were breaking up. Their “reality” is nothing like mine and I frankly don’t care about theirs. Mine takes enough of my energy. Yes, he is a baby and she is a twit. I agree that someone with a caring brain, like maybe the grandparents, need to intervene and get those kids into a normal life. Meanwhile, Jon and Kate need to get some psychotherapy and learn that the world does not revolve around them.By anie

So how is Jon going to pay child support with no J O B? Does he want his 8 kids on welfare in a trailer park? That is what will happen without the show. How selfishBy call the cops

they only made money because of the show, neither 1 of them are worth a s**t as parents,, if they was concerned about the kids they would have not agreed to do the show. But since they have done it there is no turning back,, They need to get out and live a real life like the rest of us.. or give us all a show so we can make some money. Who cares about either 1 of them. They had a good run, now they will be the laughing stock of everyone, and the kids are the real losers here. They will have this on thier backs for ever. Seems to me that the state should step in a take the kids because this is clearly a case of child abuse.By mark

Let’a not forget that Kate could work as a nurse and write her books for a living. I don’t support Jon if he had affairs, he should have simply filed for divorce. Who could blame him for wanting to ditch Kate. What a nasty person to humiliate her husband on national tv week after week!! The kids don’t need to deal with divorce in front of the whole world. Bravo to Jon for finally having the sense to pull the plug on the show. Kate should be ashamed of herself for letting her greed come before her kids!!!By Julie

I think that Jon is an ignorant, sloppy, selfish excuse of a man. His only concern seems to be getting back at Kate. If HE can’t have the show, neither can she. He is NOT taking the kids welfare into consideration, this will support them for years. Just last week he said how the kids loved it and that it doesn’t harm them in any way. They have had many good things happen to them during the run of this show and its not like they film every day, jeez. The kids love it, and it supports all of them! Kate has been an amazing mom, I can’t imagine how any of us would handle raising 8 little ones with an a** of a husband. She HAD to be firm. He was like her 9th child. How does he think his young partier of a girlfriend will handle 8 kids. HA. You go, Kate, you have done an amazing job and good riddance to your soon-to-be ex!By Julie

Its the best news I have heard of late! If kate was really taking the “high road”, she wouldn’t be taking on all the new tv ops. She would be dumping it all and being with the kids! They needed marriage counseling a long time ago~!Jon and Kate are a clear representation of the morals and beliefs of this generation of parents. Sad.By whatever

Way to paint an entire generation with the same brush. Jon and Kate do not represent parents of their generation. By your logic, we’d have to blame Jon and Kate’s parents and that generation.By rj

I have always thought that the kids were being exploited. Kate is only interested in her fame and high life afforded by TLC and perks given her (oh, excuse me, “the kids”).I know a former co-worker of Jon and, while Jon certainly is not without blame in this exploitation, he was always uncomfortable with the notoriety. Kate’s belittling and controlling efforts on him on the show only fed his anger with his wife. He has contemplated “pulling the plug” on the show for the past two years. Kate was behind the “new” title change and that helped make up his mind. He’s 100% right….stop the cameras and show, let them both re-examine their priorities as parents to those precious kids.By Get a Grip

Seriously, people need to get a grip and stop watching nonsense like this show on TV. I can’t believe people would contribute to the ratings by watching this trash. I think both of these adults need to start acting like real adults and stop publicizing their problems. Never watched it, never will!!By just me

honestly…the show should have never started. You had 6 kids with fertility treatments…big woop…n e one could do that. Your kids lives are never going to be normal in the first place with 5 other siblings, why make it even more awkward.
