Actor’s girlfriend busted after police say she smuggled drugs in a toothbrush
Here’s a lesson for anyone delivering an electric toothbrush to someone on house arrest: batteries make it go ‘brrrrrr’ not heroin.
Cameron Douglas’ girlfriend was arrested Monday, Aug.10, after official says she tried to smuggle Douglas heroin hidden in an electric toothbrush, The New York Daily News reports Aug. 12.
Kelly Sott, 31, was busted after a security guard became suspicious. Nineteen bags of heroin were found in the toothbrush’s battery compartment, the Daily News article says.
Douglas, the son of Oscar winner Michael Douglas, was arrested July 28 and on accusations he deals large quantities of methamphetamine.
A criminal complaint made public last week alleges that New York drug users paid the 30-year-old tens of thousands of dollars for the drugs.
Cameron Douglas has acted in movies including 2003’s “It Runs in the Family,” starring his father and grandfather Kirk Douglas.

I thought the accompanying picture was of the girlfriend! Silly me! Why do so many actors and their privileged children turn to drugs and make such a mess of their lives? Almost makes it look like simply being rich and spoiled doesn’t make a happy life. Imagine that!
