Paula Abdul leaving ‘American Idol’
Paula Abdul arrives for the 49th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007.
According to the official Twitter account for Paula Abdul, the former pop singer is leaving her post as a judge on ‘American Idol.’
She tweeted the following at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4:
With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL
She goes on to say:
I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent,but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon.

Will ‘Idol’ replace her? Or will they return to their 3 judge format? Will this lead Ryan Seacrest to leave the show since he will no longer have Paula to soften the wrath of Simon Cowell? It’s really too soon to tell how this might affect the future of ‘American Idol.’

Paula gave the show its only honesty. Her relationship with Simon was fun to watch. I very much doubt I will watch again.By blueandgoldblues

THANK GOD she’s gone! I had to mute her every time she spoke because her rambling drove me nuts! She had nothing intelligent to say and only made a fool of herself every time she opened her mouth. It’s about time they got rid of her. I think they only kept her for as long as they did because her stupid comments and slurred, ditzy speech added to the entertainment value of the show, but it all got to be too much and made a mockery of it all instead.By Tim

All the stupid comments between Simon and Ryan almost had me totally uninterested in the show but now that Paula is gone, I definately will NOT be watching it. Kara Sux.By DUH

American Idol just got worse. It will not be the same without Paula. She was still one of the spokes in the wheel. They should try and keep her.By Steve

American Idol will lose viewers and eventually be cancelled.
