Prince needs hip replacement, won’t do it

Prince’s much-reported hip problems of the past have escalated into a need for a double hip replacement. Unfortunately, thanks to his practice as a Jehovah’s Witness, Prince refuses surgery. (JW’s don’t believe in blood transfusions)

“He’s in a lot of pain,” said a source who was backstage with him recently at the Apollo. “He’s popping pain killers and hoping it will all go away.”

But it won’t. Back in 2005 reports surfaced that Prince, 51, needed one hip replaced. He declined. Then again in 2007 and 2008 came more reports that he’d finally agreed to “secret surgery.”

Now he’s walking with a diamond studded stick to keep him upright.

Live long and prosper Prince! Get your needed surgery and reject any hold that the Jehovah’s Witnesses cult no blood transfusion taboo has on you.Don’t let the Watchtower make you keep taking pain killers and turn you drug dependant.

They have bloodless surgeries now and he could start having them store his own blood.

Oh please. What the first thing everyone does when they cut their finger? They put it in their mouth. So he’d rather take alot of pills which are probably narcotic rather than have the surgery? Not the smartest person in the world

It is true, there are hundreds of hospitals and doctors that offer bloodless surgery for all types of cases from open heart to hip to brain. It isn’t just Jehovah’s Witness who refuse transfusions. There are documented cases that can be researched to show the thousands who have had surgery without blood both JW and non-witnesses and had good recoveries.Doctors and patients are finding out that there are too many dangers with with transfusions, such as AIDS,hepatitis, etc. It has also been shown that there are fewer complications when blood is not used, recovery time is faster, hospital costs are less. Stored blood is not effective after 24 hours as the oxygen level diminishes, so the volume expanders are being used JW are not rejecting the blood on medical reasons but religious reasons. JW are not martyrs who want to die. The local Liason Committee for JW can assist with locating a hospital/doctor that will operate without blood.

Please don’t post about the blood transfusions being dangerous. Blood transfusions are safer now than ever & there is research to prove it. Donating blood saves lives. That’s a fact. JW’s decline blood transfusions because of religious reasons, and that is their perogative. There are other options for them, if they so choose, but it sounds like Prince isn’t willing to look at them at this time. Perhaps in the future if the pain becomes unbareable, he’ll decide to explore those options.

Religion is silly and dangerous and this proves it.

We worship a God of LIFE and of LOVE. It is the enemy of God who seeks death. JWs have changed their minds 100x on this.

Go back to the totally awesome '80s this weekend [things to do]

80s fashionista

"Back to the '80s," an area premiere, opens Friday, Nov. 6, for three weekends in Kettering. The retro show is an account of 1989 high school senior class, as recalled by a man in his 30s. Unrequited love, popularity (and its opposite), a debate about CDs replacing cassette tapes, student elections, a stolen speech, new kids in school and an English teacher in a magazine centerfold are among the plot lines. There are 20 songs, including "Footloose," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "You Give Love a Bad Name." Like, totally awesome! » More
