MTV: Eminem-Bruno stunt was planned

The debate will rage on: Was the Eminem-Sacha Baron Cohen “lap dance” during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards carefully planned, or was Eminem as humiliated as he appeared to find a guy’s crotch in his face?

Viewers have been wondering whether the rapper was in on the joke, which involved Cohen (dressed as his flamboyant character Bruno) landing face-down in the rapper’s lap. A writer from the show says it was, of course, staged. Others, however, say the claim is all about damage control — His Eminess was mighty mad, and is scrambling (with MTV’s help) to save face.

“Yes, the Eminem-Bruno incident was staged,” head writer Scott Aukerman says on his blog. “They rehearsed it at dress [rehearsal] and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show.” Another source also confirmed the incident was staged to Usmagazine.com, as did awards show attendee Taraji P. Henson.

“That was staged!,” she told USA Today. “Do you really think it wasn’t? They would not put a man’s naked [butt] in Eminem’s face and not let him know. Come on! They’re not stupid.”

They’re not, but Sacha Baron Cohen has absolutely NO shame and zero boundaries, so who really knows?

The show attracted 5.3 million viewers — the largest audience since the 2004 MTV Movie Award history.

Does anyone really think that would have happened without either Eminem or one of his 400-pound bodyguards who were sitting right next to him beating Bruno into a fine paste? Give me a break …
