John McCain’s $5,500 makeup bill

john-mccain-b.jpg

John McCain, whose ads skewer Barack Obama for his “celebrity” status, has his own close ties to show business, the new issue of Us Weekly reports exclusively.

The 72-year-old was recently made TV-ready by makeup artist Tifanie White, who’s worked on So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol. McCain paid the 2002 beauty-school grad $5,583.43 for her services, according to the Federal Election Commission. That’s a whole lot of CoverGirl.

This election would be SO much fun if it weren’t so deadly serious.

UPDATE: Fair and balanced? Hardly, but we try. And we DID look for info on Barack’s makeup bill — this is the best we could find. He loves his Bobbi Brown.

I could use and do a lot with $5,583.43. Pay for gas, food, and my mortgage. Can McCain ever understand the poor and middle class? He can’t even remember how many houses he owns.

In all fairness, it would be quite enlightening to see how much other candidates paid for special facial services — I’m thinking my girl Hillary is all over the Olay line of anti-aging products, and Barack himself probably makes good use of some lightly applied Maybelline. But $5,583.43 worth? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

$5500 is a nice start, but that cadaver needs another $5500 just to look like he’s alive! He was my senator for many years living in Arizona and he is the whitest white man I ever saw… probably the ONLY Arizonan without a tan.

Gads, he looks like that WITH five grand in makeup? Imagine how he’d waste taxpayer money! Whew, who’s his makeup artist, someone from House of Wheat?

Yea, Barack should take that money and anyone who has earned their money and give it to lazy no-good bums waiting for more government hand-outs. That is the way it should be. Unbelievable!!!

I wish Obama would remove that wart/skin tag/zit off his nose. Very distracting and a dead giveaway of his voodoo policies.

I remember Regan’s vodoo economics. I wonder if Obama’s policies could be as effective as the wonderful 20 years of Republican/ neocon/conservative “trickle down” we’ve experienced that has brought us to our current financial mega-disaster? Thanks so much, Republican expert know-it-alls! The Dems, as bad and incompetent as they are are slightly better and smarter than these PROVEN loser Republican failures we’ve experienced.

Laura, You are unquestionably one of the most biased individuals associated with the Dayton Daily News. Your liberal drivel is beyond tiresome; it’s simpleminded and predictable. If you’re not complaining about McCain’s makeup, you’re bemoaning the “massacre” of dolphins in Japan. Why don’t you report on Michelle Obama’s $10,000 manicures? Or Barack’s $5,000 massages? I’ll tell you why, because YOU have and AGENDA, and that agenda is to sway the mind of the American public toward Obama to whatever extent you’re able. So much for objectivity … but I guess with the DDN that’s never any pretense of it in the first place. I’m probably wasting my time with someone with a worldview as myopic as yours.

What’s worse? Covering your wrinkles and P.O.W. scars with make-up or covering the Democratic party with Socialist/Communist Theology?

I could care less how much he spends on makeup. Obama spends money on makeup too. Great newsworthy story…

Ah, now you GOP’ers get worked up about the injustice of it all. Where was your righteous indignation when the story was Bill Clinton’s or John Edwards’ haircut? Yukking it up, I’m sure.
