The Story Changes hometown release show

Singer/Guitarist Mark Mcmillon for the Dayton-based the Story Changes hooked me up with a copy of the band’s new split with the Arizona band Let Go entitled Analogies.

To be honest I normally stay away from ‘Split’ releases because they usually lack in continuity. But, not Analogies, it is as adhesive as super-glue.

Unlike most splits the two bands alternate songs and build upon one another. Let Go and the Story Changes make sense and fit well together despite the difference in musical styles.

Two for the price of one. Get it.

The Story Changes new songs are upbeat and uplifting rock tunes that sound huge for only a two piece. The songs are catchy, clever, and climactic picking up where 2007’s The Way of the Dinosaur left off.

The band, who just got back to Dayton after a coast-to-coast tour, will hold their hometown CD release show for Analogies at Blind Bob’s Saturday, August 22nd.

Also playing is 8-Bit Revival and Stone the Mayor Sheriffs.

Mcmillon and Poppy will then jump back on the road in support of the new disc.

The band is so busy that I get tired just checking their show schedule.

But, when its good, its really good. Right, Mark? Thanks for the disc. I will see you at Blind Bob’s Saturday.

Buy the record at the show or hit up www.fdrrecords.com.
