Show of the Week: Gem City Saints
It is the return of my ‘Show of the Week.’ I missed a couple weeks due to Record Store Day and the new Smug Brothers EP’s. But, my recommendation for the must-see show of the week is back.
There is strong competition this week for this coveted prize. Friday has the talented Jordan Hull at Canal Street Tavern and hard-rockers Dr. Meat at Peach’s. Saturday has Jam-rock group Magic Jackson at J Alan’s, Cleveland’s These Kids United all ages at the Dayton Dirt Collective, the Motel Beds at Blind Bob’s.
These shows are great, but my ‘Show of the Week’ is the Gem City Saints at the Oregon Express.
The band will be celebrating the release of their new CD entitled Sing It Yourself.
A couple months ago I was given a copy of some of the band’s new material and I really dig it.
The band, who formed in 2007, plays catchy garage-punk with a little pop and a lot of attitude.
Saturday the Gem City Saints will be playing with Electric Banana and Revulvas.

I read your blog every week. I feel like you fail to mention many of the good shows going on. I realize it is impossible to list everyone. This entry does a better job than normal. I like it and hope to see more like this.By andypuncher
