The Professors are back

The Professors are playing their first show in 14-months this Saturday, March 7th at the Oregon Express with the Lions Rampant.

I just got done listening to the new Professors tracks on the band’s myspace page (www.myspace.com/theprofessors) and let me just say “Dayton missed you guys, welcome back.”

The new tunes, specifically Call Me Up, stay true to the Professors we all remember. The sound of a ‘69 Firebird burying the needle, breaking traffic laws, and enjoying every second of it.

Last week the band told Don Thrasher on www.ActiveDayton.com that they are returning to the scene more focused than ever before.

Drummer Phil Cavenous told Thrasher that last time was “more of a party.” And bass player Derek Gullett said the band was “more serious” about things this time around.

Along with a new attitude the Professors are coming back boasting a new line-up. In January, the band added organ player Jans Pasma to their familiar core.
