Show of the week: The Sailing/Oxymoronatron
Local robots and video game junkies unite!
The DLMB ‘Show of the Week’ is The Sailing and Oxymoronatron at Blind Bob’s on Friday, February 13th.
The Sailing, who stem from the Squids Eye Records tree, will be playing their first local show of ‘09.
This epic sci-fi rock 4-piece has been busy traveling and writing their follow-up to 2008’s The Floating Continent EP.
They assured fans via myspace that they will be debuting a new song or two on Friday.
“Come to the show because we are gonna debut a new song and it’s real pretty,” wrote drummer Gus Stathes.
Oxymoronatron will lead off the show with the sounds of waring robots and upbeat experimental-punk music.
The band, who were Dayton Band Playoffs semi-finalist last year, are always fun to watch and worth the price at the door.
Also playing Friday will be AJA at Canal Street Tavern, Skilless Villains at J Alans, and Mothergroove at the Dublin Pub.
Saturday, Feb 14, catch the ‘Anti-Valentines Bash’ at the Oregon Express with My Latex Brain and Jasper the Colossal.
