Show of the week: Blaxeed
My friend Herb reminded me that Thursday had come and gone without a ‘Show of the Week’ pick from the DLMB (Dayton Local Music Blog).
Sorry Herb for being late with my pick, but there are a lot of great shows again this weekend to choose from.
Friday, February 6th has Andrew and the Pretty Punchers with Mascot at J Alans. Also one of my favorite singer/songwriters Jordan Hull at Canal Street Tavern.
Saturday, February 7th has Minneapolis hardcore band Throw the Fight at McGuffy’s and singer/songwriters Chelsea Johnson and Dan Malloy at Blind Bob’s.
So my choice was difficult, but my ‘Show of the Week’ is Blaxeed at the Oregon Express on Saturday.
These straight ahead heavy rockers come from the Black Sabbath school of R n’ R. Heavy riffs, thumping bass, and screaming vocals all accompanied by a beer-guzzling good time.
It will be loud, but fun.
Also performing will be Avareous and Devil to Pay from Indiana.
