Show of the week: Reggie Stone
The super-uper talented Reggie Stone is a must see for any local music fan that enjoys creative musicianship and a good time.
Make the drive to Peach’s in Yellow Springs on Friday, January 23th, to see Stone play a rare finger-flappin’ solo acoustic set.
Stone’s unique playing style, that has been best described as “more than two hands on one guitar,” is why he is my ‘Show of the Week’.
Stone’s solo music is instrumental and acoustic including infinite finger-tapping and tempo changes.
Stone, who is the former bass player of the disbanded reggae/funk band Zorba the Buddha, has also become very busy beyond his solo act.
He plays in the funk/jazz/improv band Opposame, a Tenacious D tribute band called Tenacious G, and a 60’s-to-90’s cover band entitled Gym Betty.
“I’ve got a lot of irons in the fire musically,” said Stone. “Hopefully someday music will be my main bread and butter,” he added.
Visit www.myspace.com/regemon to hear a bit of solo Reggie Stone. Also follow the links to his many other projects.
